I have done some searching, but haven't found much. I'm looking for a Usenet reader for my BB. Has anyone found one or can recommend one?

I can't say there isn't one, but I will be very, very surprised if there is an application. Perhaps something web-based that is ok on the small screen? Don't know.

I have found one, MobileNews at Sourceforge, but it's read only, and it's kind of clunky to use. There are several that will work on Windows Mobile phones, but I'm not that desperate.

It also hasn't been updated since 2005, making it somewhat worthless in my eyes. It's too bad, as I'd love to have a newsreader. I think Google Groups through a browser would be the only way for me right now.

I don't like Google groups, for many reasons, the least of which is its interface. I suppose I'm spoiled by the likes of Agent and want an interface like that. One that supports threading. I wouldn't mind one that has something similar to the way this forum is on WAP.

Man I remember Free Agent back from the late 90s (right?), it was the best of breed. Forte' was the name of the company I think - those guys are still around? I gave up Usenet years ago, sadly...

Yes, Forte is still going. There is no Free Agent anymore, although there is an archive that older versions can be downloaded from. They are up to version 4.2 now and working on 5. Version 4 supports multiple news servers and mail servers, and does html, (puke).
