But even when weather reports agree, they are often still all wrong. (I had a trip to Wheeling WV a few weeks ago. The various forcasts predicted light snow with no accumulation. Hahh! The joke was on me. There was accumulation. And freezing rain. This Florida boy had never seen freezing rain and does not want to see it again.)

Yea I'm running Weather Bug and WeatherEye right next to each other Weather Bug says 60 degrees and WeatherEye says 68 the thermometer on my back porch says 66.

The web page for WeatherEye mentions severe weather updates, has any seen these first hand? The only thing keeping from getting rid of weather bug is the fact I get the severe updates a few times during the hour.

I tried this app for a few days but am sticking with Weather Bug.... solid app that works well and it's free. although I get the white square instead of the icon once in a while and that annoys me.... still a nice app.
Waiting for their update!

See my WU link above, and it shows *which* substation (if even that much) the weather was actually observed at; the reports are taken from many sources, and in my city can vary greatly as to where the sampling was report in. For my zipcode there are at least 5 or 7 substations, and they can vary greatly due to the SF hills (i.e. the west side will always be colder and report more moisture vs. the east side which is more sunny and always the nicest part of SF).

Ya sorry about that I wanted to try it out before I said anything, it seems when I say something right away it sucks.

Thanks for the explanation, that clears things up. It would be nice if we had the option to choose from which substation to use on all weather apps.

If they had it for my city I would be cool but Chicago is the closest and there can sometime be a huge difference in weather conditions like right now it is snowing in Waukegan but just cloudy in Chicago.

I like the idea of saving the underground site to your main screen. I have used underground on my itouch and the radar rocks. I can get local weather alerts from my local news tv8 they have live radar , alerts, and forecast on a local format . WOOD TV8 - live8.com for MI.

Giving it a try, so far so good. I like the fact that the home screen ICON updates every 30 minutes. I would like to see more cities or towns listed as mine was not there, yet a much smaller town nearby was which I thought was kind of weird. However, that smaller town does have a college campus so maybe they are providing the weather data to The Weather Network, which might explain why they are listed instead of larger towns and cities. Just a guess on my part.

I hate to bring back old threads but....

I got wind of this the CrackBerry.com forums.

The WeatherEye Short term forecast is now working. I reinstalled WeatherEye and the short works for me (spring hill, fl)

So I know I am going to see which is more accurate over the next few days.

Has anyone gotten any weather alerts in weathereye yet? (I am curious on how it notifies you and how up to date it is).

I did not have to re-install WeatherEye, it just started to show short term forecast.

OH cool, thanks for the heads up, Steve (and MrK!). I had not noticed that short term was now working... this makes WeatherEye a lot more valuable!

What it needs now is a quick link to your home forecast radar image. Days like today (we have a powerful weather system moving our way, tornado watches, etc, predicted) there is nothing better than a live radar shot.

haha, which is directly opposite out here where I live. We just look at the window in the morning and go "yup, it's dry" or "yup, it's wet" and that's that. Weather is so uncomplicated out here in California... (usually)

My hope is that they will add cities.

I'm going to give this a try. BBWeather does not work on my Curve for some reason. When I open it, it tells me "Error - no location was specified" or words to that effect. Then it locks up lol. Downloaded and deleted twice with the same result. Maybe this one will work better.

^ You did not add your location in BBWeather - that is why it indicated that error message.

Dur. I hadn't read that - thanks! Working now and I like it better than the Canadian product since it found my exact city and gives a longer forcast. 5 stars for you, my friend.
