Question Third Party Software - Similiar to PocketDay - 04-01-2008, 11:12 PM

Can someone recommend any software that is similar to PocketDay?

I'm still having issues with PocketDay with all the features not working and have been unsuccessful in anyone returning my emails.

Thanks.

The developer posts here. His username is crs. My emails have always been answered promptly --I'm surprised you've had problems.

If you are using the beta, you should post in this thread:

Thanks. No, I have a registered version. The only feature that's working on it right now is the weather sync. I cannot reply to email. I cannot add tasks nor add appointments.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

For that type of product, it is the best in my opinion
I concur that they are very responsive when you have a problem.
I hope they can resolve your program.

Have you tried a reinstall?

It may be that you need to reset all of Pocket Day's settings.

I have been running PD for almost a year now, but I probably upgraded between various betas and such at least 10 - 15 times easily. During all those upgrades, PD keeps it's settings between version upgrades and even through OS upgrades (whereas all other apps lose their settings and reg keys, PD doesn't). As new features get added and programming changes, and old settings aren't used any more, the configuration/settings file (whereever that may be) I would suspect gets bloated. I had not had any problems with PD on any version until recently when I found I had hotkey conflicts which caused a crash, and little quirks that I didn't have before.

crs sent me a link to a utility to download OTA, which I installed, which blows away all the settings so you can set everything up from scratch. It's a good idea to write down some of your settings before doing that, of course -- but it cleared up any problems that I had and I'm sure it resulted in a cleaner and meaner config file.

You might try contacting crs and asking for PDTest (off the top of my head), doing a reset and giving it a go. Sounds like you have nothing to lose since you're a reg'd user already. Takes about 5 mins to re-enter all settings and preferences, except for the colours and fonts which take a bit longer to tweak but before going to that trouble, you'd be able to tell whether it solves your issues.

mddlrthr2,

usually that issue is related to an install on a new device and installing the wrong PD version for the BB OS that's running. Please send us email at [email address] and we'll get you sorted out ASAP.

Woops, that didn't occur to me.
