I'm keeping with SocialScope. UberTwitter is best if you don't have a SocialScope invite. TweetGenius sounds interesting, I'll have to try it out when it releases.

I like Ubertwitter for now, but it is not something i would stick with. Not to mention it looks like they have plans to charge. I keep getting the message "Your trial will expire in -241 hours, please go to their website to purchase a license." It is a good FREE app, but definitely not worth paying for IMO.

Me either.

I've been loving Ubertwitter! I've used Twitterberry and Tiny Twitter. It blows both of them out of the water.

I downloaded tinytwitter and so far I like it. I do like that you can see the entire tweet unlike twitterberry. I wish though that they would include the link in the same box. I had the tunnel issue too..but simply changed my connect setting. It took me three times to figure out how to save it though.

FYI with tiny twitter you have to close it upon exit and not just escape out. It will drain away the battery otherwise.

That is true with many other 3rd party apps like Viigo, JiveTalk, etc.

Don't think it that was really called for... at least stating it that way.. I am sure some amount of work was put into creating the app itself... Maybe constructive criticism next time...

Hey Steve, if it's the truth, it's the truth. It's not as though he said "it sucks balls and the programmer's a fairy."

I've been using TwitterBerry up until today, but I think I'm going to switch to
ÜberTwitter for awhile.

I'm really just hoping RIM will finally make a Twitter client. I want a little Twitter notification icon the same way I get one for Facebook (not that I ever really use Facebook anymore, but still).

If you can get into SocialScope Light, give it a go. It's the best IMO.

Most definitely, as Twitter gains popularity I am sure we will be flooded with even more Twitter apps.. but the real question is how many do we really need?

that's exactly what i do. just text "follow" and the person's twitter name to follow, "stop" + username to stop updates on SMS, and "on" to turn back on. it's easy and fast. plus it's just like twitter. you just text to 40404 and type just like you're on twitter to RT or reply.

example:

@bitswt02 that's great!

OR

RT @chloe814 .....

From experience
I am ranking Social Scope above ubertwiter. However, this may change as these groups release upgraded versions.

SocialScope is a pretty clean app with a really nice UI, I just wanna see how my battery life goes...

My battery dropped to 5% yesterday so I couldn't make any phone calls on my way home :(

Right now its touching a narrow market. I would shell out the money if it does what it purports to do.

TG price at 5-10 bucks seems reasonable enough for a twitter app.. I probably wouldn't any more then that however.

Im going to have to go with twittergenius as of today. it basically takes what the rest of the twitter clients all do, and puts them together in one very attractive GUI that doesn't kill battery so far, and it's cheap, 5$. Miss out on a Starbucks latte for a day and you got the price of TG.

Again tell me why it beats a free one? Social scope hasnt killed my battery yet.

And you will never find me in a STarbucks paying for over priced nasty coffee.

I haven't tried anything else, but my two cents: I've been using twitterberry on my 8820 - now using the beta #6 I think - and I leave it running most of the time. No issues. Doesn't seem to be much demand on the battery. (my twitter name is aihpcfl)

I've been using SocialScope (FREE) all day and have to say, I am impressed. I really like Ubertwitter, too... but until I see its beta-2 release, I have to say I have some serious reservations about UT... mainly battery drain.

I agree with those who ask "why pay anything for a different app when there are good ones for free?"...

The one thing with buying a Twitter app, while it is on the cheap side, the free apps will eventually catch up. Granted it's a mere 10 bucks. After a few months.. it would seem like a waste.

Unfortunately, SocialScope is in private beta' at this point. You can sign up at SocialScope - A Mobile Inbox for your Social Networks, but there is currently a wait to get a link to the download.

The next best app is Ubertwitter. It is pretty good - the only major issue is the battery drain issue... developers say that they are working on that issue.

Perfectly stated. As I was mentioning to SteveO, battery power may supercede features.

TwitterGenius is good... except that it's slow as dirt and has a low storage ability for tweets. (only 500 and download 200 at a time? c'mon)
UberTwitter has a weird UI and it doesnt tell me which tweets i've read and which are new.
I would love to try SocialScope but their lack of communication is utterly unparalled.
Tinytwitter is for 4.2 devices (i'd rather have a built-for-storm app) and twitterberry is like, the diet coke of ubertwitter.
