Desktop Manager can backup to/restore from a PC BB data. Is there a BB (device, not desktop) application that can backup device content to a media card?

Thanks in advance, folks.

Yes to your first question. I don't think so for your second question. {At least I haven't heard of BackupBuddy for BB.}

I interpreted "Desktop Manager can backup to/restore from a PC BB data" as a question as opposed to a declarative statement, but on more careful reading it clearly is a declarative statement.

Sith, when you say "it is coming in the OS", do you mean 4.5? I am a tad ...

DJM2, yes, I was thinking in terms of that (from my Palm OS days) or Sprite Backup (Win PDA days). So, no in-device 3rd party backup app presently available? (Anyone?)

Thanks again.

While I can't offer anything over what's been said already, on my media card, I try to have the latest .IPD files copied over from my PC, plus the install executable of v4.2 of Desktop Manager, JL_Cmdr.exe, and zipped backups of all 3rd Party Applications (created by using the Device Switch Wizard) on the media card also. The whole thing is less than 100 MB which is nothing with a 2 GB or 4 GB microSD card.

The idea being, if I went on a trip (or had a hard drive crash, losing all my .IPD backups and DM), I could connect to a PC somewhere, install DM, and restore from my .IPD backup. I could then reinstall all my 3rd party apps too, all without having an internet connection. It may not be the most elegant solution but I can't see any pitfalls, other than not having a USB cable.

Agreed! Where there is a will, there is a way indeed.

Thank you, Klotar.

Probably related to OS 4.5, as Sith mentioned above.
