Default JiveTalk issue?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys;

I just installed JiveTalk on my BB 8330 and WOW I'm seriously impressed - something not easy to do!

I am having one problem though and I can't for the life of me figure it out.

If I have the program set to flash the LED light to anything other than "Profile Default" (which is set to not flash at all), even when I don't have a new message it still flashes and won't go away - even closing the program doesn't make it stop. I have to do a re-boot of the device before it will stop flashing.

Any suggestions on what could be screwed up?

This is the only issue stopping me from buying a full blown license right now.

Thanks!

-Mike

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Pearl 8100)

I have had this issue sometimes as well. For me, it was because I had other messages (text, email) that would also flash but use the same color as the JiveTalk. If not, then do as ezrunner suggests.

If that doesn't work, there tech support is more responsive than most. 8330 is relatively new. maybe there is something that has to be tweaked.

I couldn't get the LED to stop blinking either so I use IM+ and love it (except the price!).

This happens to me from time to time as well. I'm not sure of the circumstances that set it up but it is quite annoying when it does. The only thing I've found - short of a system reset, is to place a call. This seems to clear the annoying stuck led. Not exactly an eloquent solution but it does work...

For now, I just have the blink notification disabled in all profiles and set the program to use profile defaults.

It would be nice to have it show me a visual indicator (aside from the icon) that there's an IM - but I can deal with it.

I'm yet to try the making a call idea, I'll give it a try later on and see what happens. It looks to me as though the phone is getting the 'blink=true' command, but for some reason isn't getting the 'blink=false' one. Weird.

i've had this happen, and narrowed it down to having other unopened messages/texts that would otherwise cause the LED to be flashing. once i open all the messages, the jivetalk colored LED stops blinking.
