Post PocketDay Version 5.3 Released - 05-01-2008, 09:56 AM

All,

PocketDay version 5.3 has been released. With this version we have changed to a new weather provider to allow more functionality going forward. We now have complete Radar images for the US and global Satellite views. This, in addition to a new 48-hour detailed forecast as well as the 3 and 7 day forecasts and a new look for some of the views adds to PocketDay's already massive feature set.

Also in this version, we have multi-line task wrapping, a new Google / Search look and feel and new calendar and task screens to match the new BB OS 4.3 and 4.5 system.

OTA Download (www.pocketday.com/ota.htm):

Or, if you have version 5.2.1, click Check for Updates on the PocketDay menu.

Please note that sometime next week, the current weather service will stop working so please upgrade as soon as possible.

Thanks for your continued support...

The PocketDay Team

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Should the beta 5.24 users, uninstall and go with this upgrade if we are a subscriber?

You do not have to uninstall, just select Check for Updates on the pocketday menu.

Nice job CRS!! The change to the Tasks display alone is worth the price of admission.

I added a contact to a task that I had created and it showed up the little person icon on the task.

Now when I try to go back into the task and remove the contact and save it, the icon is still there for the task.

I went back into the task and the contact is still attached.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

crs,

Thanks for the multi-line task display, I have been harping on that need for a while and will love it once the download/reset process is complete.

Thanks,

Mark

Is it possible to change the font size or something so that we can see the time that the last weather update occurred?

In this screenshot, you can see the time is cut off:

Not currently, but we'll look into changing that for 81xx series devices (we'll get rid of the words "as of".

Thats strange. I am not getting your problem. If you haven't already, I would make sure I downloaded the proper file and at least do an uninstall/reinstall.

He already said it's an issue with the 81xx series phones. He will be fixing it.

Not sure if this was in previous versions, but with 5.3 if you open a recurring appointment, you are sent to the first appointment in the series, not the one on the date being opened.

crs,
When I click on "Check for Updates" in PD (version 5.2.4.1) menu, I get the message to
click to Download 5.3. When I do that my browser opens and then
I get a message saying "Invalid address http/" with an OK button.
And then nothing happens.

What version do you have? Personal or Pro? Wap or regular? BB OS 4.1 or 4.2?

The new weather looks slick, as do the task/appointment edit screens (although I almost missed them because I have "native" turned on).

I also see you now how 2 line e-mail.

I used to be able to press "t" twice in order to get to the built-in task application. Why would I want to do this? I'm not sure if I should "trust" PocketDay to properly handle repeating tasks. I rely on repeating tasks working correctly, so I used to go to the native task application in order to mark an "instance" of a task as complete. I don't think PD handles this, if memory services.

That being the case, I need a quick way (t-t was good enough for me) to get to the native app.

I think the "Google" box looks nice, but it's a little confusing to have to select "Other Search Options" from the pop-up menu (is there a quicker way - I see a triangle, but can't manage to get at it) and then to see the old-style "Search?" area appear.

While I'm at, I might as well mention that "GoTo..." in the stock area (this is not the Pro version) doesn't do anything. Didn't in the past version, either. Do I need Pro in order to get at additional information? If so, why the "GoTo..." option if it doesn't do anything?

Anyway, thanks for the upgrade. It was like Christmas when I saw your post, crs!
