***EDIT*** Nevermind guys... I figured it out. I wasn't entering a "description" when creating the profile so it wasn't letting me save it. Me <-- idiot.

I just downloaded v.77 OTA onto my new 8330 and when I use the trackball to go into options/add a profile... when I'm finished creating a profile i scroll down to the "ok" button... and I'm allowed to highlight the "ok" button but when i press the trackball to select it... nothing happens. The only thing I can do is select "Cancel".

What am i doing wrong? I use the trackball to get into options. The I use the menu button to select "add".

Help!

Are you sure you filled in the fields correctly? The only way I can duplicate this is to not completely fill out the fields.

Hehe... you're right. I just figured it out myself. I hadn't put anything in the "description" field so I put something in there.. and all was good.

oh, and I love this place

Unhappy 05-10-2008, 06:56 AM

I have been without BB Weather (My favorite BB app) for 3.5 weeks now because my provider does not currently allow TCP access with BIS. Long story but I only had that access because I had a standard PDA plan a long time ago and they accidently never disabled my access, that is until I changed my family's plan a while back. Here is my question, is it possible to program a version of BBW that would use BIS and not need the APN settings? If so would it be difficult and would someone be willing to attempt it? My provider keeps telling me they are working on implementing TCP access but who knows if it will ever materialize.

If it's too difficult I understand and if not I would be eternally grateful. I had 5 apps completely stop working when my TCP access got disabled, it really makes me want to jump ship on my provider.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and...

Thank you to Tateu for fixing this beloved application, the Blackberry community will be forever indebted to you for this amazing contribution to the BB World.

Happy Berrying!

Thanks Tateu, this is wonderful. I hate to admit that something this simple can become so important to me. Now I think I understand why all the sudden my battery seemed started draining so quick. BBWeather must have been polling like crazy.

Someone else from pinstack found the issue and fixed it. I just signed it for them and hosted it.

I added a link to Tateu's version as well. I can also offer hosting it if needed. Let me know.

Thanks!
Jason

I think it's symbolic of everything to do with Blackberry. We become so dependent on everything that it does for us that we are completely lost when one little thing malfunctions. I'm not ashamed to admit that I (being the sensitive old lady that I am) have shed tears over my loss of TCP access and my beloved BBWeather. My spouse works out of town for months on end and I always monitor his weather as well as my own. There are a couple paid alternatives that will work without TCP but nothing works as smoothly and conveniently as BBW.

Much Thanks again to Tateu and his great work for us BB Addicts.

Happy Berrying!

Here here! I really miss this program. For the time being, I just disable the weather module and see the rest. Tateu, any chance in fixing this too?

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 857)

Awesome, I really missed this! Is it ok to copy/paste your link on another forum, if I give you proper credit?

Wow...and I though we lost bbweather for good. Good job tateau!

Just curious, what did tateau do to make bbweather work again? I know she recompile the program. But I though weather.com stop their service to bbweather?

It's posted up a ways back in the thread. It was a minor tweak.
