for some reason, BBWeather stopped working for me. Nothing loads, all I get is Error: null.. Any ideas? I am on a 8100 with the latest OS, and correct apn settings.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

If it was working and then just quit, I'd say leave it be. Its likely a carrier apn issue. It'll likely resolve itself.

If it has never worked make sure the apn is correct. Make sure the disable mds proxy is unchecked if you're on BES. If not, check the box.

Good to see this app, but I just put it on my 7130e and it works fine, but on the forecast I can't scroll. Something I didn't do?

Can the radar be added to this?

EDIT: Nevermind on the scrolling, it was "selecting text" and I had to stop that and it scrolls. Weird.

Make sure that you have your carrier's apn info entered in Options >Advanced Options >TCP.

Then if you're on BES, uncheck the box in BBWeather that says "disable MDS proxy." If you're not on BES, then check the box.

Did you install the new version? If you have version .75 or lower it won't work.

I just downloaded BBWeather from the link provided by Tateu in this thread, and I'm getting an Invalid URL parameter error. I saw that this could be remedied by changing the TCP settings, but I don't have TCP in my advanced options. Is there any way I can fix this?

Neither of these apply to me, any other ideas? Thanks for the reply

What do you mean "none of these apply to me?"

They certainly DO apply to you. You MUST have the apn settings entered and if you are NOT on BES you MUST check the box as instructed.

.77 worked fine for me for about the first week...

Now every other time I hit the menu key to bring up the little submenu to update or to view forecast...nothing happens after I choose my option. It stays on the main weather screen, doesn't update or anything. When this happens, I can not bring that sub-menu up anymore. I have to let it sit for several hours or do a battery pull. It seems as if I have to have perfect reception in order to use bbweather normally, or something like that. I'm not getting any errors which is confusing me.

Too many headaches, not worth the trouble...so I removed the app and will be trying out other weather apps.

Anybody have any idea what "Error: expecting ';'." and sometimes "Error: null"

I have that 0.77 version.

=(

I'm on T-Mobile if it matters...

Did you add your apn settings under Options >Advanced Options >TCP? Also, did you check the "Disable MDS Proxy" box in BBWEather?

My BBWeather stopped this morning as well. Tried battery reset, my MDS Proxy is disabled, and APN settings are correct. Any suggestions?

It's probably an issue with AT&T's apn. It'll likely come back. Make sure you have version .77, though.

It works on my 8310 with OS 4.5. The point is that works only if in the BB TCP advanced option is present an APN domain (Vodafone Italy) in my case. This means that BBWeather does not work on the standard BB BIS data plan ? It's a minor problem but I would like to understand.

Thanks

Yes, BBWeather only uses TCP (or BES MDS) right now. It doesn't use BIS.

I found out why BBweather was being so screwy half the time I used it. I was using the back key to exit out of it, which was causing tons of problems when I went to the app again later on in the day.

Menu>Exit every time I'm done viewing the weather, like I should have been doing from the start. Works flawlessly now.

I know of no database more comprehesive than that one. If your city isn't on it, I'd say you either spelled it wrong or it's very very small.

Hi,

Has anybody had any luck getting BBWeather to work with Vodafone UK? I have tried all the settings detailed in this thread and I keep getting the message: Error: null.

Default Storm? - 12-17-2008, 10:50 AM

Anyone had any luck getting this to work on the storm (9530)? Running 4.7.0.75 and BBW .77 and no luck. It was tricky but finally was able to get into teh menu and create a couple profiles. I am on a BES and have MDS disabled too. Still no luck.

Thanks

I wish I was smart enough to tell you why BBWeather works on my Storm. It works perfectly though! I have 5 profiles going on and it never hangs. It even goes between portrait and landscape. I have the same setting as zebo above... BB OS .75 - .77 version of BBW - MDS disabled. I am on a hosted BES service as well.

Maybe it has something to do with the browser settings... mine are set as follows:

- Browser: Blackberry Browser
- All options are checked
- Browser Identification: Blackberry

If there is anything else I can do let me know!

Works fine for me. Enabled compatibility mode, loaded locations/etc. Disabled compatibility mode... batt pull.
Running .75 OS. Using BBW .77
Sorry I can't be of more help.

If you are on BES try enabling MDS

It is working now. Don't know what happened, but I just opened it a few minutes ago to try messing around with it some more and it pulled down weather info. Did several refreshes and switches between profiles and all looks good up to 10 day forecast. Settings are still the same as I posted above.

Now the tricky part is that there seems to be size or margin issues, so in either mode you can actually scroll the screen farther right, but it is just blank. So when scrolling just have to remember to scroll down go from bottom left to top right and to scroll up swipe top left to bottom right.

Just wanted to update... just tried downloading BBWeather again to my 9530 Storm with VZW's .75 OS... and it was still tricky to get to the menu... however before, after I set a profile and went to "save"... nothing would happen... and my Storm would get an error when it tried to update the weather info. So I gave up.

but now... I clicked on "save" after setting up my home location profile... and it seemed like nothing happened again... and thought "oh well"... but figure I'd try and see what it did when it tries to update the weather info. After a second... it pulled down the current weather info! Then I went to forecast... and it pulled that down too!

It looks like all is working... except for that margin issue that Zebo mentioned. But that's not so big of a deal. Do I wish the app was perfect? Yes... but I'm just glad to have BBWeather back in action.

Yay!
