Default BBWeather - Saved by Weatherwonderman Tateu - 05-06-2008, 09:48 AM

Is anyone else receiving an error: Bad or missing query parameters in request. when trying to update BBWeather? I received this error on versions 0.74 and 0.75

Do you have your weather locations entered?

I would pull the battery and reboot. I have seen that error before, but it never persisted.

It is my understanding that BBWeather, and all other applications (BB or otherwise) that use that weather site for updates, ceased to exist as of today. Well, maybe not ceased to exist (I don't know the exact details) but the site no longer supports weather updates in the same way.

e.g. as announced elsewhere, Pocket Day has changed weather update providers. This is why, as PD used to use the same site.

/goodbye BBWeather (unless it's re-written to use a new alternate site).

Just curious, what was the site it used?

This was one of my favorite apps. Any chance someone will re-write the program? I'm not a programmer, so I don't even know if it's possible.

BBWeather is not working on either of my devices. If anyone has an explanation why it's not working anymore, can you please post it here (or a link to something explaining it)?

It is being said that the website it referenced to pull the weather from no longer exists, or at least the application is no longer able to pull data FROM that source.

So now that BBWeather is off-line, can anyone suggest a weather app that can have multiple profiles. I had 19 cities set up in BBWeather and Weather EYE doesn't seem up to that task.

Thanks!

BBToday used the same weather sites. This is the death of a BB staple. I hope someone can rewrite this open-source code to use a new weather server.

No kidding....I routinely tell my users about this program and I know a lot of them use it. I may have to change my phone number.

It looks like weather.com has its own mobile service.

The Weather Channel Mobile: local forecasts, radar and current conditions on your cell phone or PDA

I don't know if this is new or what, but maybe they stopped supporting other weather apps in an attempt to get people to use their own service? Just speculation on my part.

I have this site bookmarked on my Blackberry, with the link to my zip code.

Welcome to Weather Underground : Weather Underground

It seems to be a lot more accurate than weather.com.

What did you tell them - just that the application has been disabled and there is no way to fix it?

Thanks, Daphne! I have the Weather Underground site bookmarked already. Would be nice to have a separate icon for weather, but maybe the weather.com site has one.

I just told them what Klotar said. I didn't tell them to delete it yet. But I did tell them to "close" it so it doesn't run their battery down looking for weather.
