Default Best "FREE" IM client - 05-08-2008, 01:25 PM

Hey everyone -

I currently use the following IM clients:

GTalk
MSN Messenger
Yahoo
AIM

Any recommendations on what I can use to access all of these on my blackberry?

*NOTE* Prior to my blackberry 8310, I used the TILT. The program that I used was called "PALRINGO". Awesome software!!!

The best free one if Google Talk from RIM. Once installed, search for the thread on how to install the Jabber conduits for AIM, MSN, and Yahoo Messenger. That worked the best for me!!! And free ...

Webmessenger is the only client that will get you connected to all of those....

but seriously, try out Jivetalk's trial and you'll wind up paying for it. its that good.

Completely untrue. You can use Jabber Transports/Agents (not conduits), to gain access to the different networks. See the post below for instructions:

Multi Platform Chat on Your Blackberry

Step 1.) Search > Step 2.) Post
Skipping Step 1 can be fatal.

Mainstream meant to do this?

GoogleTalk is a Jabber client and the need of the OP is exactly what the Jabber protocol is meant intended to do.

If it were meant to do it, you wouldnt have to shoehorn it in by adding crap via a desktop client. thats all. Leave it alone.
