sorry, but copy and paste from text files is not intutive for me. I create a new list but no copy function in the list. Selecting the list in the list column, loads copied vocabulary but doesnt show up anywhere. ??? I use comma separated items from an email, but.....

Make sure you have selected and copied a comma separated list of words that needs to be added to dictionary, then 'Load vocabulary from clipboard' menu shows up on the main screen of MaraTick. Then they will appear within pop-up suggests in the new item's editor field.
But, first of all, make sure you've selected your list and copied them into the clipboard by using 'Copy' menu ( in the context of whenever you are, be it email, calendar event, text in a web browser or a memopad).
If you didn't copy it into the clipboard, the 'Load vocabulary from clipboard' menu won't show up in MaraTick.

Clipboard is a common storage area accessible from any Blackberry program, and therefore can be used as a simple data transfer mechanism between different apps.

So on a multi item list, then mulit items show up when paste show under "new item". HOw do you then chose an item off that list? Or do you copy only one item at a time?
Sorry but Im having a brain fart over this one. I appreciate your patience.

Sorry, I didn't notice that you have a pearl. Because of suretype, predictive text popup may not be working on pearls. Let me know if you have that problem. And this needs to be addressed as I expect a lot of users be Pearl owners.

Ok, once I enabled multitap, and initiated typing, predictive text opened up. but only if I deleted the second letter input. I noticed there was already quite e few food items I assume were input to vaocabulary by installing Mara? Otherwise the stock vocabualry is pretty impressive
At this point its just a matter of geting used to the input method. Thanks for the app and your good natured input.

Downloaded this yesterday OTA. So far it looks very nice and intuitive. One minor issue is that if I make a change and hit the ESC button, it doesn't prompt me to save the changes. Thank you for the app.

The reason is it is designed to be as fast as possible. Therefore a lot of shortcuts, predictive text, copying list items and lists so that you can reuse them instead of creating a similar list from scratch etc.
Bottom line is, it is not easy compete with a traditional paper and pen approach of making a shopping list.

Default Problem selecting checked items? - 06-05-2008, 01:52 PM

Not sure if this issue is due to my theme (bberry Today), but on my 8830, when I scroll down into my checked items, I can no longer see which line is highlighted.
On my grocery list, for example, I scroll past the unchecked white lines, down to the yellow checked lines- and while the white lines turn to a darker blue background when highlighted, the yellow lines do not change to highlight which checked line I've scrolled to.
Am I the only one having this issue?
I have 1.0.6.

Thanks.

I hesitated to dl this, idk why but I'm glad I did.

Runs smooth and I cant wait to use it! The format is so simple and I love the word memorization, brilliant.

I look forward to any updates you have.

My wife is loving this app, of all task apps I have thrown at her to try, she likes this the best. She calls it her list of lists...

Default Scrolling through checked items - 06-10-2008, 08:02 AM

I tried again this morning, and still cannot see where I am as I scroll through checked items. I have 1.06.
Has anyone else seen this?

If I redownload and install, will I lose the lists I've created?

Thanks.

This app looks quite interesting. However is there (or can you add) a brief tutorial for loading and using our own fields from the clipboard? I've read and re-read...

I am able to load the field names from the clipboard but when creating a new list it will only show the measures, amounts etc.

Don't want to use this as a shopping list but more of a to-do list with non-shopping fields.

Using: 8700

From his website:

Version: 1.0.8. Features include:

* Checked off items are automatically pushed down to the bottom of list
* Unlimited number of list and list size
* Auto-complete with a built in dictionary (user propmted to load upon install)
* Self learning dictionary of todo items
* Icon selector provided to customize each list
* Todo items can be selectively copied between lists
* Entire data can be copied, backed up/restored to or from any BB app
* Items can be moved up and down along the list for easy prioritization
* Item's move can be triggered by ALT+click or ALT+M
* Each list integratable with BB calendar
* Duplicate a list menu, usefull when you have a template list
* Email a selected list, the receiver will 'Copy' it from email and import using 'Add Data from Clipboard'
* Delete all Selected on List screen
* User can select item name or measurement vocabulary when 'Loading vocabulary from Clipboard'

Does one delete the old version before installing 1.0.8. ?

In general, whenever I've downloaded an updated app to the BB, it just asks if you want to overwrite with the new version.
I used the link to upgrade OTA to 1.08- but when I go into the 'about' screen, it says I'm using 1.07. Can anyone else that upgraded OTA verify that they now have 1.08?

(I'm also not seeing the icon selector, which leads me to believe that the OTA link hasn't been updated).

holy cow. this rocks. I originally downloaded 1.0.4 and had kept a bunch of notes on my thoughts. Not only have you guys already given some of the same feedback, but Ted already made the updates.

I just installed v 1.0.8

This is one of my favorite apps. I am going to install it on my wife's BB now (secretly ).

Thanks.

Edit: just noticed 1 thing. . .Potato is mis spelled in the preloaded vocabulary (you have it spelled potatoe like Dan Quayle)

I downloaded from this site Ted Regsuren's BB page I didn't see an option to get v 1.0.8. When I look at the version I have on my device....Curve 8330, it says Verson: 1.0.7.

How do I get the latest version?

Hi,
very great application.
ALT-M seems not to work on my Pearl 8100.
What about internationalization? At least for the dictionnary it would be nice (now, my list is becomming a mix of english, french and german), is there a way to edit the list manually to remove unnecessary items?
If you want to offer multiple languages, I can help in translate into german and french.

Dan

Alt-M doesn't work probably because of suretype keyboard of Pearl.
Dictionary editing interface is in my plan. Translation would be nice, but I have to do some work before I can make it easily translatable.

Hi, could someone please tell me what "set application permissions" means when you do the OTA install for this? am I supposed to check this off or not, or does it not matter?

set aplication permissions is basically settings that that allow a program to automatically/manually connect to other programs or the web. by disabling certain permissions, apps that require connection to the web will not function properly. as for this case, it seems that the application does not require specific permissions, and allowing them will not matter.

There are some places where you would need BB permission, like locally storing your MaraTick data, and integrating with BB Calendar for a list's due date reminder.
So, you should give those permissions.
FYI, MaraTick does not network and won't read your PIM data etc, so, you won't need those kind of permissions.

This has quickly become one of my favorite apps; unfortunately, when I installed the OS 4.5 beta, all my lists went bye-bye. Is there any way I can recover them? I ran a backup with DM right before I did the update. I looked to see if I could restore them using part of that backup file, but I don't see anything that appears to be related to MaraTick. Thanks in advance for any assistance - and thanks for writing the app!

Great Application,

Is there anyway maybe you can add an audio profile so we can select an MP3 file to play when the due date/time is up?

I used this program when it when it first came out and then didn't reinstall it when I had to reload my O/S. Today I reinstalled it and for the life of me can't see how to make a list using something other then the predefined template.

I've read through this thread and also the website for the program and still don't see the answer. HELP!
