I want an application like WorldCard Mobile that is on my Win Mobile 6.1 phone. I am shocked unless its an API limitation that someone hasn't done an app for the blackberry that lets you take a picture of a business card and have it auto populate a contact

A Contact personal Manager for those of us that need to keep track of customer(s), their e-mails, orders, etc. for each customer. Better then hoping to remember all the to-do's until I get home...!...

My friends and I are on the water on the weekends and get seperated. It would be nice to see an App that we could load on the phones to get us to the other boats. Something that would know land marks and stuff like that.

I would like to see an application where you could pull up a map and in real time see where traffic delays and accidents are via users GPS enabled BB. I realize google maps has that for traffic, but that is only available in major metro type areas. I would like to see the app allow users to input a wreck or other hazard (construction) so you can bypass that area. Email notifications of new incidents would be useful too. Incidents could be assigned a length of time to remain active, such as 2 hours for wrecks, 2 days for construction, etc. Anyway, random idea I had today while sitting in traffic.......for an accident.

Default An app that doesn't seem to exist - 06-11-2009, 09:20 PM

I'm looking for an app that lets me read my mail offline. I use Thunderbird as a portable app that resides on the MicroSD memory card in my BB 8100. I can explore to the card and see the files but I can't read the Inbox file as e-mail messages.

I have the BB but I can't spend the money for the unlimited data plan.

I'd love to see an app to view genealogy data. I've had one for my Palm called GedStar which works great. But, having moved from the Palm to the BB...

my most wanted apps include
annoucment of incoming call or messages by voice.
Just like the LG voyager has.
I relaize you can make custom ringtones, but this is not what im after.
if the number isnt in your phone book that app could would read out call from and the number, if it was private or restered it would just say call from restricted number. Messages would say message from and the name if they were in your phone book.

Next I would love a myspace and facebook app that would allow me to connect by proxy.
My carrier doesnt allow direct connections.
so a configureable connection would be great.

Default Local backup - 06-19-2009, 11:57 AM

Relatively new to BB. Former Palm Treo user and I miss the ability to backup my BB to the local SD card. While it was probably critical on the Palm, I used it for many non critical things. Backup, install new app, restore backup to revert to preinstalled state. Since I found it necessary to wipe my Palm device regularly to correct a spontaneous reboot condition, I would have a saved backup of a fresh install of all my most essential applications. If I had problems when I didn't have time to figure it out I could do a backup then do a restore of my essential install. Back in business in a few minutes wherever I was.

I have wiped my BB once in the last 6 months so it isn't a common thing. I have rarely needed to reboot but there are times when I would like to try a different combination of applications to see about performance differences.

I would love to see a Bloatware Blocker. An app that allows you to block certain service books so I dont have to see junk or think about hidden junk on my blackberry. Anything's possible right?

I need a solid template program - creates email and text templates that don't vanish when you upgrade operating systems. Seems current programs loose the templates..

can be simply done with GPSLogger - just sending each other your current position via SMS and use the "Guide me to/Direction view"...

Default Metro North Schedule - 07-07-2009, 06:25 PM

Hi today I took a ride into the city on the metro north. Had no idea what time the train was to arrive. My luck, I got there right after the train had left so it was another 25min. wait for the next train. I could have opened up the comp. before leaving to check the shedule, but I didn't. To make a long story short I came home to check to see if M.N. offered a timetable for mobile. Hate those paper ones. Didn't find anything but did run across a program called "Stationstops" but only for iphone. Would luv to see a similar app available for bb. Hope I'm not the only 1. If anyone knows of an app like this please post the link.

thanks

Default App for Blackberry - 07-29-2009, 06:41 PM

A basic audio Real Time Analyzer (RTA) / Spectrum analyzer program. It doesn't need to be super-accurate; just able to identify offending (i.e., "feedback") frequencies) when tweaking a PA system, monitors, etc. and give an overall idea of the relative response of a system. Something like Mobile RTA that works on other PDA/Smartphone platforms.

Also, an instrument tuner application. Ideally, it could identify the fundamental frequency as well.

Something that works like f.lux: It makes a screen much more readable at 3 am. It was written by the guy who wrote Picasa - he knows his way around screens and color!

List them here--I am curious as to need, not debate over whether "everyone" needs that application, but just your need.

Such as, examples:
-Automatic TimeZone Change application
-Threaded SMS viewer
-Automatic wallpaper changer

Thanks!
I'd like a searchable shopping app. My previous PDA was a Palm, and had "Handy Shopper" on it, which was great. All the shopping apps I've found have not been searchable, and it's pretty tedious to scroll thru the list to mark off the items that I need at the store!

I'd really like:
1. a better browser for the 8900 with tabbed browsing
2. a pdf reader
3. the ability to IM from my Blackberry to an integrated chat 'widget' of some kind I can embed in a webpage (maybe I just haven't found the solution yet..)

I want a YouTube app that will download the higher-res YouTube videos that Windows Mobile, Android, and iPhones enjoy. The Tour has a great screen but still only gets the crappy quality YouTube feed.

Wirelessly posted (9530; (I'm mobile) MF231; 35h)

amsy, OS 5.0 will have threaded SMS and auto time zone change.
And for a PDF reader there is already four applications which do this: the native OS will open PDF email attachments, and for media card saved PDF files, see BeamBerry, Repligo and PDFtoGo by DataViz.

Default Hotspot - 09-11-2009, 07:26 PM

I want to be able to set my phone up as a wifi hotspot. I carry my ipod touch and blackberry, and it would be awesome to be able to share the EDGE connection with my ipod over wifi.. I know there's some apps for symbian or something like that, but nothing for the BB.
