Default Jive Talk data usage - 05-24-2008, 05:26 PM

Hi,
I have about 400 contacts in my buddy list and I have noticed that jivetalk uses about 1mb of data per hour, even if i don't chat actively. This seems a lot. Can you please share your opinion?

And.. as third party software.. will it work only on a BB data plan, or do i need to set up the APN of my local provider to use third party software?
Thankx

Wirelessly posted (8310; The Juggernaut)

I don't have an opinion on how much data your JiveTalk uses. That seems high to me, and maybe it is tied to the number of contacts, but I wouldn't think so.
I understand JiveTalk will work with only the TCP settings, outside of any data plan. YMMV.
