Microsoft products for PC do not have a counterpart for use on BlackBerry phones. However, like akosnitzky stated, there are products that can be purchased for interoperability.
Currently there is eOffice, however Documents to Go will be released next month. These are the only two that support viewing/editing Microsoft Office files without recurring fees that I can find.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

I am surprised there are not more microsoft office type products.

I am too. There are a few others, like DocHawk, but they require monthly/yearly fees. My guess is they use serverside conversion.

BeamBerry is a onetime fee, now isn't it? And very soon will be using on-device document conversion, just no editing.
