Default Help! BB8830 GMail accounts hijacked! - 05-29-2008, 01:29 AM

Hi,

I'm so very upset and unhappy.

Alltel Data services were down for a while tonight. Didn't receive any emails for a few hours. So, I sent myslef test emails and just received email from BB, as follows:

This email account is no longer accessible by your BlackBerry device. This issue is likely caused by a recent change to the password used to access this account.

To resume receiving email from this address, login to your BlackBerry Internet Service account and verify the password is correct for this email account.

Email Account Information:
Email Account:
[email address]
Email: [email address]
UserID: [email address]

How could this have happened on my BB8830?

Please someone explain.

Thanks.

Sometimes the service books just get wonky. Before freaking out, try going to your BIS site and resend the service books. Many times that alone will resolve the issue. FWIW, I see that message on one of my (6) email accounts every 6-8 weeks...

And to confirm that the password was/was not changed, try accessing the account directly via your PC web browser (gmail.com).

Default Thanks so much. - 05-29-2008, 01:36 AM

Hi, fonejunkie:

I will do this asap in morning.

Why I'm so worried is also because my ebay account is under this email and I can't login with my pw that's also been changed.

I appreciate your quick reply. Will update on this later today.

Thanks again. You are all so helpful. Appreciate this.

Exclamation Well, BB confirmed - 05-30-2008, 01:38 AM

Hi, fonejunkie:

My gmail accounts now belong to the internet thieves. Confirmation from BB that my 2 gmail accounts are no longer valid.

I did go into gmail and did not have "changed pw", so they are gone.

Thanks for your help.

All of you...this just means that RIM servers could not connect to you Gmail account for a period of time, just login to your BIS site and click on the red circle with a line through it next to the account. It should validate and start sending email. To be sure just resend the service books while you are there!

Cool Thanks Thatzmister2u! - 05-30-2008, 01:06 PM

Went to BIS again today and miraculously gmails are valid again.

Sorry for the panic but 2 days of missing accounts were frightening.

Yesterday, I went to BIS and GMail online and both said pw changed and then BB notification of pw change made me very uneasy.

All of you that were so kind and expert at explanations are to be commended.

I'm so new to BB and had no idea why this happened. Now, I am aware.

Thanks so much. I love this forum.

That was what I suggested first:
