1. Profiles > Advanced > edit your active profile > edit the JiveTalk entries.

2. JiveTalk uses data, not SMS/text.

3. google?

My question wasn't wether it's data or sms, i know it's data, i just need to know if i'm logged on all day, how much data is used in average (XXXMB)?

ok, I read your "will this be using data or only when i receive im's" questions and wrongly assumed that was a question.

It is pretty difficult to determine the amount of data it uses on average. I wouldn't now know where to start. Your average and my average wouldn't be the same.

It's hard to tell. I average about 100 mb a month total usage . My phone is logged on JiveTalk 24 hours a day and I use other applications that uses data also along with JiveTalk.

its going to vary greatly. Depending on the size of your buddy list, are you downloading the buddy icons? do you do file transfers? how much do you IM?

There is a device data traffic monitoring software out that you should check out if you are that concerned about it.

JiveTalk is really the only "always on" application that I use (in addition to the other always on apps, including BBMessenger) and I use it for a few hours a day. I average about 20MB a month in data usage, but that's also combined with light internet use and PIN messages.

JiveTalk has never chewed up my battery, nor anyone I know.

You may need to check your battery saving mode setting.

Anyone else have trouble getting Jivetalk 1.05 to work with OS 4.5?

I get an uncaught exception whenever I try to launch it.

Soap, no issues here-- make sure in your 4.5 loading that you also loaded Documents2Go. It appears that application must be loaded to enable some third party applications.

Thanks, I'll give it a try because I didn't load it on my BB. Didn't really know what it was.

I love the additional goodies included in 4.5 but I can't say I'm looking the look of the address book, messages, calendar etc... They really messed up the traditional look and are now wasting a lot of precious and limited screen space.

Check out the customization options of the messages in Messages > Options for the headers, etc., you might be more pleased as you use it and get used to it, and learn to use it.

I guess I'm one of those people who don't like change... I still use the classic look in Windows...

I still use classic windows also. But some changes are good, and being able view headers in a the condensed way is a good thing, and you can customize how they appear.

Opinions of JiveTalk vs. Mundu? My JiveTalk just expired, then I came across Mundu. I'm giving it a try now. Wondering if anyone has done this comparison already.

Thanks!

...mine says Tunnel Timed Out (Running JT after upgrading to 4.5.0). What's Documents2Go and where can I find it?

BUmmer.
If you scroll your ball to the right instead of down, it's sort of like a 'page down' feature, and will scroll much much faster.

Default Text Message via AIM - 08-16-2008, 07:46 AM

I am able to text message any cell phone using my AIM 6.x application on my laptop (New IM->+13335551212). Is this possible using JiveTalk on my blackberry?
