Is a data plan required in order to use the free version of WorldMate Live?

I don't have a data plan but i cant use it. Even when i manually set up the connection, it cant connect

Having the same issue. I'm with Tmobile, 8320, no data plan as well.

Ok I think that confirms it -- need a data plan for it to work.
