Is anybody beta'ing this currently? It says it will be publicly available Thursday. Looks like a nice piece of software.

Looks nice. I signed up, but am not in the beta test.

I've very happy for this, as I find their mobile site to be very lacking.

I know! And I'm scared, because once I have this apps, with real time quotes, I'm not sure I'd be able to do anything else all day other than watch them.

This just may convince me to start using my eTrade account again. Schwab needs to follow hot on their heels!

just made my first trade on the BB - pretty sweet.

a few cons:

a little slow to startup
must login each session - session only lasts up to 30 mins each time
can't keep the program running in background :(

eitherwise its great

Download of loader went fine, but when I run the app (which does the full install), it gets to 100% and then says "There was an error during the download. Please restart the application and try again."

Restarting doesn't do anything.

Got it to work (required a battery pull).

What you download is only a loader. When you run that, it downloads the rest of the application. E-Trade does not appear to be providing it in OTA .JAD format, at least not now.

It's nice. I haven't put it through its paces, but it looks pretty, is easy to use, and does most of the things that I've been wanting to do mobile (but haven't been able to do or do easily via their WAP site).

At times, it's impossibly slow. This doesn't appear to be the app, but communication with the server. For example, I'll ask for my portfolio and 5 minutes later, it's still not up. At other times, it's lightening quick.

Are there things missing? Sure. For me, I'd like more (different?) information in the performance view.

I manage multiple accounts (personal and investment club) and it'd be nice to be able to save login (even without password) information that I can simply pick between.

I got the same error message on my 8310 but I do not suscribe to BIS but instead have a Gmail Mobile account. Could that be the problem?

downloaded on my 8330 (4.3), and it installed as expected. After a prompted reboot, the application configured and connected easily. I logged into my eTrade account without any problems. Nice application, and it has been a long time coming.

More reporting on my experience...

I've twice had it lock up, requiring at Shit-Alt-Del. When my BB comes back to life, I get a a message how this application stopped responding and how it was closed.

It's just a beta...

I put the beta on my 8330 and it is prett smooth. Did a few buys and sells today without issue. Looks really nice too. I like that you can check stuff without logging in as well.
You can leave it running in the background which someone said you can't. I have my left hardware button set to applicatiuon switcher. Just use that and select another app or the home screen and leave it running. Its running as I type this right now without issues.... Will kill the battery quick but it works. Enjoy!

I'm sure you already tried this, but do a battery pull and try again. I had similar problems with the beta and this fixed it.

haha yeah i tried it a bunch of times last night and today and it didnt work. i tried everything i could think of to make it work and its still just wasting space on my bb. i pulled the battery, the sim card, messed with the app permissions, network settings, restarted the app and the bb, redownloaded it, took out the battery and waited like an hour and nothing is working. i really really need to get this thing to work because i got a new job and i cant ever get on etrade while the market is open and im losing money.

Yup, that's it. If removing the battery, waiting a few (30) seconds, putting the battery back, and letting the thing reboot doesn't fix... then, sorry. Other than removing the software, doing a battery pull, and then redownloading, I'm out of ideas.
