Havent seen this before. I usually use the flickr email uploader address to upload directly to my account. I wish my 8830 had a camera! I'm going to check this ou right now.

App seems to work great. Very convenient and simple.

Thanks for the link.

I always used the email address method too. This looks cool though since it will geotag (provided you have the GPS)

The only real difference between the email feature and the uploader is that this app allows you to describe the image, tag it, geotagging and I think I saw an option that allowed you to add to a set. Not sure though.

Some screen shots... obviously the names and images are blurred to protect the privacy of my grandkids....

The only knock that I see is that the color scheme is such that you can't read the text as you type... it's somewhat better if I tilt the BB away from me and look at the screen at about 75* angle.

I think I saw something like this once, about a year ago, from a 3rd party company. Only thing I remember not liking about that one, was your account had to be wide open, no privacy.

I just got an email from Owner's Lounge announcing this. Hopefully the forever-promised Picasa Uploader is coming some day, too.

A few more screenshots.

Notice the low contrast between the light pink background and the white text. (May be a function of the theme, I haven't tested that yet). (First pic)

You have the options for defining the TAGS, PHOTOSET, LOCATION and PRIVACY settings. (First pic)

The options for LOCATION are <none> and WHERE I AM. If you choose WHERE I AM, it tries to identify your location w/ GPS and then allows you to label it ('HOME', 'the Lake', etc). (Pics 2 and 3).

I can verify that it is caused by the theme. Apparently either the Flickr app or the theme don't follow the standards correctly... but with the Dimension Zen theme, the text is black on a white entry background. With one of the custom themes, the text is white on the white entry background.

Also, after loading the initial 5 pix, Flickr now reports 'a problem' with my account and refuses to upload... even though I can download the current 'sets' from my site. Looks like it's not quite 'ready for prime time' yet.

shouldn't this thread be moved to the RIM software section since it's produced by RIM, similar to Yahoo Messenger, Facebook, etc? just curious.

Picasa Uploader is coming, check it here.
Since I also have a Picasa account, I'll wait for it.

However, to clarify, you cannot install/run the program on/from your memory card. There are a couple of 3rd party programs that try to solve that problem, but they often turn into a kludgey mess.

I like it. Now and then it would error out on me. I also wish that it would allow for "multiple selection" of photos to upload. If I have 5 photos to upload, I would have to navigator thru the upload function 5 times. Anyone find any solutions to this or is this just a limitation?

That appears to be a limitation of the current version. Perhaps an update is coming that would fix that.

Has anybody gotten the geotagging to work properly? When I upload an image I set my location to WHERE I AM, it detects via GPA, I name the location, and then upload, but when the image appears on Flickr I dont see a way to tell it was geotagged. What am I missing?

Well I've made some progress.. If I select the photo in the Flickr app on my BlackBerry and then scroll down to Location and click on "View On Map" it does show the correct location.

So I guess the question is how do you view this on Flickr?

With your Alltel device, do you have the GPS activated with TeleNav or whatever it is they require?

Yes I do.. I downloaded TeleNav and used it once. BB Maps detects my GPS position correctly and so goes Google Maps. I can see the the GPS location is actually stored in the photo, the problem is just that it doesn't appear that way on Flickr.com.

Yes I too wish I could upload a bunch of pics at once. Maybe the Picasa app will have this.
