| My Time Tracker 3? Not worth it. I used a PalmPilot for several years and loved Time2Log. Recently, my company moved me to a BlackBerry (they don't support Palms) and I've been looking for a replacement since then.
I tried out BizTrackIt, but found the UI hideous, so I purchased My Time Tracker 3 and have been using it for several months. The UI is bad (though not as bad as BizTrackIt). There are several obvious flaws, such as the awkward way you have to display the time you've worked for the week (by turning on every the display for every client in your database) and that there is no default entry for the time you've worked on a project (you must enter a "0" for minutes worked, it doesn't assume it); but now I've given up on this product.
Two weeks in a row, the synchronization feature has somehow caused data to be erased. In both cases, I'd spent more than an hour updating my billing entries on the desktop software and then saved and backed up my data by synching to my handheld.
The first time it happened, I thought I'd somehow forgotten to save the data, and since this product also has a bad interface, I committed to just being more careful.
After the second incident, I now know it's not me, it's bad software.
I'd rather not have any software tool than have one that erases my data willy-nilly.
I recommend looking for something else, and please post on it when you find it. |
