Hi SHAPE,

My scenario is the second one: my screen turns black, my keyboard locks, and then xPlayer stops.

Thanks for the follow-up.

Shape, a lot of us are getting the beta expired error. I sent an email with my PIN to your beta email address. You didn't specify how you wanted them sent.

Hello Chuck,

You did the right thing. And we have reseted your information. Please reinstall the application.

Of course it was and invitation to everyone who experience the "beta ended" message to send us your PIN.
You can send it via a PM or to the [email address]

UPD: three more people from this thread are contacted via PM. If anyone else is experiencing this issue, feel free to PM me.

Best regards,
Irene

Irene,

I have to say that the .10 version of the software is more problematic than the .9 software. The Streams seem to silence alot more often then before in the .9 version. I kept my settings the same, Direct TCP and 200kb. I know its only been one day with me on .10 version and we getting alot of storms today Thunderstorms.

I've been testing .9 for a week on an 8800 Edge with 4.5 beta. The stream has been excellent, and does not cut-out even in the elevator. Problem I'm having is trying to switch to bluetooth or headset, even when I select it. Have a Bluetooth BB Music Gateway, so would be nice if I can stream this over the home stereo.

Will download .10 today and test that to see if those issues are fixed.

Shape, thanks for the 1.1.10 update, which is more stable than the last beta was on my 8700 with OS 4.2. I really appreciate the ability to edit the stations, which lets me re-categorize the default stations and fix typos that I make when I add stations. I also appreciate the stations you added with this update.
It would be nice to be able to hide stations I don't use often, because I'd rather not delete your default stations, in case I want to try something new one day. I'm still looking forward to being able to change the dark background to something a little brighter.
Really enjoying the application.

I'm not a greek though my name really is.
Actually the latest version must be more stable then the previous, may be it's really because of the storms...

We have duplicated the situation and the issue didn't arise. Are you using some specific auto-locking application? Or maybe your settings are set to exit all the apps after the locking?

Dear Soapm,

That might be OS issues also.
A full xPlayer release will be available soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi SHAPE. The auto-lock on my device is simply the built-in option, and I didn't configure anything to exit apps after locking. When I unlock the device, xPlayer is still open, it has just stopped streaming.

The latest beta on Verizon 8130 works great. Internet radio is very smooth. I haven't tried it while in a moving vehicle yet, but I think that will depend on cell coverage. Thanks for the update and looking forward to the full version.

You said that it has fast forward and rewind. Is there a shortcut key assigned to that? I see you can do it with the trackball but that is a problem when you are trying to watch the video as you fast forward. Think if you had to skip a commercial ... you need to watch it to find out when it ends.

Looks like v1.1.10 is posted now as a beta, but running it after its installed simply brings up a "This Beta round is over" message. As much as I appreciate the fact that Shape is offering this for free, I'm wondering if it's really worth it . . .

The fast forward and rewind works only with the trackball.
If you are watching a video, press pause, scroll the trackball and then play. This is the only way to forward and rewind the files.

Fantastic, great job SHAPE! Looking forward to the full release!

While I'm at it, I noticed that the xPlayer beta I'm running (1.1.9) does not automatically detect that headphones are plugged into the device before xPlayer is opened. When you start streaming, it uses the BB speaker until I pull the headphone plug and re-insert it.

I still think that .10 has more buffering than .9 and I emailed feedback that. Either that or AT&T is on to me and making it more difficult to get internet radio since its not one of their Paid services. (To me Data is data and if I got unlimited internet then it's unlimited).

Hmm wish you could fast forward through music too. I have techno files that are from 30 min or more long it sucks that I have to start at the beginning of a song again if I have to turn it off for some reason. Anyone know a site with stations thatll work for the phone or what I have to do to make a station work that I find on the net. Like this one

When you point your mouse in a Radio station list to a station you see a long link that includes this part http://beenie.internet-radio.org.uk:11392
You can either save that long link that leads to a *pls file, then open it in the Notepad and copy the link http://beenie.internet-radio.org.uk:11392 or just right down the link http://beenie.internet-radio.org.uk:11392 with a station name and a port number and then insert in xPlayer.

Hi SHAPE,

This release makes me extremely happy, I've wanted to stream radio to my phone since I got it. With OS 4.5 and xPlayer, that dream is now a near-possibility.

Do you know an approximate timeline as to when you might add aac+ stream format support? My carrier at the moment is not able to sustain the mp3 stream from Internet radio, but the station I like also has an aac+ stream at half the bandwidth.

Thank you Irene. Keep up the good work. And a special thank you to the developers for making the product what it is. I look forward to Windows media MMS and Real Player RTSP support in the future. And on the wish list Flash support.

I already own your RDM+ product on my Blackberry and it is so useful.

Just downloaded the released version this morning (I had played around with earlier versions). I can play the existing radio stations fine (the few I tried). I tried creating my own station (702 Talk Radio from South Africa) and get "The media stream is not available". I'm sure I've got the right URL and I can listen to it on my PC and on my blackberry via Moodia (not great quality though). Is there a restriction on building my own station or is some kind of approval needed? I haven't paid for a license yet, thought I'd play with it for a week and see how it goes, but if I'm not allowed to build a station until I buy a license, that's fine, just would like to know.
Thanks!

Got a couple questions about it.
First, when I try to open a folder to play my music, I get the error "uncaught exception -1>0.
Also, when I try to listen to any live radio station, I get an error message about checking my connection settings. I've tried the different types with the same result.
I am running 4.2, BIS and getting 3-4 bars of strength.

Peace,

Kamau
