Default BB alert 1.65 - Please help.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I've just installed 1.65 on my 8310 however, I'm having a real problem to set it up correctly to do what I want it to do.

Basically I'm only bothered about email and calendar notification. I would like it to vibrate and flash between 0700-2200, outside of this time I would like it to flash only.

It feels like the BB continually follows the settings of the "standard" profile not that of the BB alert profile.

Would someone be kind enough to talk me through the settings step by step to achieve what I mentioned above?

Please please help....in principle this software is exectly what I've been looking for.

Rob.

Wirelessly posted (8310; The Juggernaut)

Have you set the "bbalerts" alert in your active profile?

Jsanders,

I went into "normal" profile - edit -and then adjusted the settings within "BB alerts" to vibrate in/out of holster. Do I then need to change/match the other sub headings within "normal" profile such as level 1, messenger alert, messenger new message?

It feels like what ever adjustments I make within "normal" profile under "BB alerts makes no difference !

Could someone give me a step by step guide to achieve what I want !!

Thanks again

Rob.

Hi again,

Do I have to somehow leave "BB alerts" running in the background? Am I closing it by mistake?

I just set EVERY single vibrate setting to "on" within BB alerts - and it would not vibrate until I adjusted the other headings within that current profile. It then vibrated but ignored the "schedule" completly within BBalerts !!!

Am I really that stupid

Hi,

Finally managed to get the issue sorted...many thanks BBymel

One last question. For some reason I can't "control" the LED colour for phone calls - It just defaults to red.

Could it be to do with Permissions? The first time I installed BBalerts it asked me to authorise the permission which I did. I then uninstalled BBalerts and a week later changed my mind and reinstalled. This time it didn't ask me to authorise anything?

What should the permission settings be set too? I believe I can adjust them but am not sure what to adjust them too?

Thanks again

Rob.

Strange, for me it works great for everything except repeating calendar events.

don.new,

Funny that, I just checked my calendar reminder and I'm having problems too ! LED colour will not set correctly and it will not vibrate although it's set too.

Just about to try a re-install and battery pull....still think it could be an issue with the permissions?

Whats the issue with your calendar reminders?

Rob.

One-time calendar alerts work fine but appointments set up to ring every Tuesday, for example, don't.

Hi,

When you say it doesn't work with "repeating" calendar events, exactly what doesn't work?

I get no vibrate - LED flashs but wrong colour.

Hi Rob, I use the BB Alerts app to make the LED flash white when a calendar reminder is due. It flashes this way for one-time calendar reminders but not for repeating ones.
