I've joined their "forum" to see if they know what is going on with this as well. Has only been happening since I installed the new OS for the 8300 this AM.

I went to install docs to go and thought, gee, why should i install the entire thing when i can only tick docs to go and avoid having to install the rest. Well...nothing else was installed on my phone besides docs to go and I jad to go back and reinstall ticking, messenger and tasks and the likes.
Thankfully my cal. stayed in tact with all my dates and the likes by my messenger buddys are gone.
I was wondering, using the DM, if i go to restore something, can I only restore one particular item such as the messenger? If everything has to be restored, will it restore back to my old OS that is saved as it was upgrading to my new and current OS?
Apologies if I should have started a new topic for this messenger question. All of you are great! Thanks.

The backup/restore is what I'm speaking of, thanks.
It prompts me to select the file that I have named as the back up of my curve. I was delaying selecting it because I didn't know if it was going to revert everything or if it would open up and allow me to select an individual database. Seems like you've answered that for me, so thank you.
I think I'll give that a go and see what it does with regards to my mesenger contacts)...agreed?

Ok sorry John, I don't seem to be getting the deed accomplished.
Do I click on, backup, restore or advanced? I pressed advanced.
Pressing advanced brings up a split screen with the devices databases listed on the roght and desktop databases listed on the left. I then selected blackberry messenger from the right side, added it into the left side and pressed close which prompted me to save changes to the back up folder that was created when upgrading the OS.
Should I have used the restore tab?
I'm sorry man. :::red in face:::

Well, it sounds like you may have just overwritten your backup file with what is currently on your BB.
You needed to use the Advanced tab and then go to "file" and open the backup made during the OS upgrade. Then move the database from the left side over to the right side.
I have a feeling you now have a backup that contains what is currently on your BB for that database. Does that make sense?
