Trying to setup Youmail

When I dial the number to set it up (the number with the stars & pound sign in it), I get the following error message on my phone
"supplementary service error: call barred".
I am wondering if this is because I have FlexPay, and not a regular account. I noticed that on the Youmail site, it says prepay accounts are not able to use Youmaill.
Someone also said something about call forwarding minutes, but I've never heard of that.
Any ideas?

Do you have a text bundle? If not it might be tmo that's giving you the error.Youmail sends you a text everytime you miss a call and 2 texts if tour caller left a message so make sure you have a text bundle.

I'm not quite sure what that is, but I have unlimited text, emails & the works, along with unlimited data.

Call T-Mobile and ask if you have access to call forwarding with FlexPay. I would say you do.

Just got off the phone with TMO, and they tell me that I do have call forwarding and the text bundle.

I just got an email from Youmail support. They say that T-Mobile has changed their policy, and that prepay & flexpay customers are prevented from using Youmail.

TroyDBrown 07-08-2008 07:36 PM

I am glad you got your answer. Sorry it was not what you wanted.

YouMail Web Support Incident

Dear Kamau,
x
Thanks for choosing YouMail! Due to recent T-Mobile policy changes prepaid and flex-pay accounts no longer support conditional call forwarding. This would be why the call is showing “barred” or “not allowed”. Without this feature you will be unable to send your unanswered calls to YouMail. We apologize for the inconvenience however T-Mobile policies are beyond our control. If you would like more information, please call tech support at (800)374-0013 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm PST for further assistance. Thanks!

This is a copy of the email I got, just in case anyone else has the same question.
