There doesn't seem to be any way to use Gridmagic to view/store/save workbooks on the SD card. Is there a way to do this?

If not, I'm assuming this is possible in the "Documents to Go" application bundled with the latest RIM OS... How does the spreadsheet application included in Docs to Go compare with GridMagic?

Yes it is possible to save and access spreadsheets on your microSD. I found SheetsToGo is more intuitive and easier to use... No qualms re functionality as yet. (I only had access to community version of GridMagic).

That's almost reason enough to risk an upgrade even though the only version available now is ruins some T-Mobile SIMs. But it looks like the standard version that comes with the 4.5 OS is somewhat restricted. You can't create new files, for example (I guess that means the Save As... feature is unavailable). And sorting, which is one of the things I miss most in GridMagic, seems to require the premium version as well. Can you zoom in and out using the standard version?

I am using v1.002 (011) of DocsToGo i.e. I registered the standard version and upgraded to this version which provided SheetToGo. The standard version has just WordToGo and SlideShowToGo.

This version of SheetTGo will provide both sort and zoom capabilities you are seeking.

You can even "create new files" on the standard version by using the method outlined here :

Re: Sim Cards frying. I think that was a T-Mb issue with 8320 devices using "beta .37" if I am not mistaken. Although you may want to double-check that before taking any "risk" of upgrading.

Hey PDM, thanks for the links. I'll look into the T-mobile thing and maybe do the OS upgrade after all.

It's cool that the full version is what RIM and Dataviz are making a part of OS 4.5 instead of the crippled standard version described on the site. Hopefully the checkout process will work as expected.
