not likely, the RF is very specific on the device, and with no IR port it wouldnt work that way either.

I had this on my Windows Mobile device for about a week. It was fun but thats about it. The range of IR on a phone is also very short.

Default This was demo'd at WES...

Unify4Life

There is a video of it in action from the CrackBerry.com website...

CrackBerry @ WES: Unify4Life BlackBerry Remote Control | CrackBerry.com

Darn cool!

Nice. It will be available in stores in October. Not exactly what I was thinking but it works. universal remotes hardly need any hardware... i dont see why this hasn't been built in yet

Wow, that's awesome. Here's a n00b question but are all blackberries equipped with rf or is there an add-on that you'll need to buy? It didn't look like that bb in the video had anything but the software...

I believe it is connecting through it through a built in access point and doing it all over IP. Which is why your would need that box

Comments from a rep after the Crackberry article say it connects to the IR box via bluetooth.

Would be cool to have this. I have it on my palm. It's fun to go to a bar and start turning off the TVs.
