Default Looking to tread a little BBerry fat... - 07-12-2008, 04:34 AM

OK, so I've got all of these applications, and I'm trying to get rid of a few.

Google Maps
Blackberry Maps
Yahoo oneSearch
InfoSpace Find It!
Windows Live Search
Pocket Express

Anyone of these do their job better than the other? I haven't even used em all yet a lot aside from Google Maps and InfoSpace, but I don't wanna delete em until I get some feedback on which ones you guys like best...

I personally like Windows Live Search, I think it works great. You can look places up and add them right to your address book. I 'm not sure about info space or Yahoo onesearch.

They're all interesting apps, but what I'd get rid of, in order of least favorite:
  1. Windows Live Search
  2. Pocket Express
  3. Yahoo oneSearch
  4. Blackberry Maps
  5. InfoSpace Find It!
  6. Google Maps

I stick with Google Maps and Windows Live Search and ditched everything else. If I had to pick one, it would be Google Maps. Other than being able to email someone a link showing your location (a novelity), I see no point in Blackberry Maps. Yahoo and Infospace are nice but when I tried them didn't offer anything better than Google/WLS.

Google Maps and BeyondBerry 411 are all you need.

Beyond 411 is a great bit of software.

Google Maps is fantastic but it doesn't integrate with my GPS.

I keep BB Maps also (which does integrate with my GPS).

I like to use all three, depending upon the need.

Berry 411 is definitely a keeper. Personally, I found Google Maps to be less useful. I have Nav4All for spoken turn by turn directions. I haven't been able to part with Live Seach, although I honestly can't say why. InfoSpace Find-it was easy to part with since it had a lousy time getting GPS info.

Most of the standard BB stuff like messenger, password keeper, etc has been removed from my phone. Theres better stuff out there and some of it is all in one program
