Question Yahoo Go! 3 beta & OS 4.5 incompatibility - 07-16-2008, 07:39 PM

Is anybody else having problems with Yahoo GO! 3 Beta on OS 4.5?

The only thing in the option menu is "Close", so whenever you're in your inbox or check weather, you cannot use the return key or open the options menu to go back to the previous screen.

I hope Yahoo comes up with a fix soon. This is on a BB8300 BTW.

I am also having the same issue on a new 8310. I have tried deleting the application and reloading it but the only menu option continues to be "Close". I did a quick scan of the Yahoo Web site and didn't see an area to report problems. I also hope this gets fixed sooner vs. later!

EDIT: I did submit a question to Yahoo. I will let you know their response.

Meanwhile I've discovered that I can use "Q" key to get back to previous screen. "A" key also brings up the list of widgets.

I guess it's still usable at this point. I almost want to delete it and try and see if 2.0 works.

Still no official word from Yahoo on this. I have exchanged several messages and shared the screen shots of the lack of menu options. I think the issue is finally getting escalated to the next support tier. I will let you know when I hear back from Yahoo on this.

BTW - good find mebiuspower! The "Q" and "A" key solution help minimize this current inoperability issue with BlackBerry's OS 4.5.

I use to use YGO all the time on my 8703e. Now I get nothing because the 8330 is not even supported? Come on Yahoo!

I had a week long interaction with Yahoo and was promised that this issue was going to be escalated to the next level of support. All I have gotten is a survey on my experience, which - needless to say - I blasted Yahoo for the lack of support.

Maybe a MSFT acquisition can help!

At this point, I have all but stopped using Y!Go and have shifted over to Live Search.

A version for the 8330 was released over the past 2-3 days. I loaded it and was pleasantly surprised to find that it remembered all my settings, widgets, etc.

I just downloaded v3.0.43 of Yahoo!Go and it seems to work fine now on my 8310 which is running 4.5.0.55. Previously, I had version 3.0.19 of Y!Go and that version didn't work with 4.5.

Can you tell me where you found the link to that version? I've been unable to get 3.0 to work on my 8830, using OS 4.5. Everything else on my BB works fine. Pls PM me if you prefer.

Just go to your browser and type in "http://get.go.yahoo.com" to go to the download page and once you click download it will ask if you want to replace it with a newer version.

Tried that several times. I see a button saying "Get Yahoo Go Now" and it looks as though I could click on it (browser cursor changes from arrow to hand), but nothing happens when I do. I don't see any link that actually says "download" anywhere on the page.

Any other thoughts? Thanks.

You can also try this: "http//us.get.go.yahoo.com/p/download/".

Thanks for the suggestion. Same result as before.

Has anyone downloaded the .jar and .jad files and loaded this app to your BB using this method? If you have done this successfully, could you email/PM me with the files?
