I'm basically a walking bartending book, but is there an app for the blackberry? Like a mobile database of drinks and recipes i can search through by drink type and such?

You can use our gWhiz gRef product which is a generalized version of what you're looking for. If you download it, you can search the gWhiz public catalog. There's one reference in there for "Mixed Drink Recipes". Once loaded and activated, you can search it just by typing in the search terms.

Note that you can also create a Google spreadsheet and create your own reference which you can share with our catalog or others.

I am gobsmacked that a "walking bartending book" would need a BB app. Nevertheless, there is a website you can always use to compliment/enhance your skills : :: Mixology.mobi :: Drink recipes on the go!

Default Drink Wizard

There is a great program called Drink Wizard. It has over 1000 drink recipes built in. Searchable by drink name, glass type and/or up to 3 ingredients. You can also add your own recipes or modify the ones that are in there. Here is the link to the product on handango:

The best one out there is drinknation.com This website is awesome. You can look drinks up and see how they are made, which most sites do. But they also have a huge list of things that you can go through and check off that you have in your home and tell you what drinks you can make with those items. Not just the liquors, but things like fruits, soda, stuff like that. That part of the website is called "Your Bar". Very cool stuff.
