Smile Blackberry Fitness Application

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone. So a couple of friends and I have just developed an online fitness application. We basically allow you to setup your workout routine online on our website and then use your blackberry to track your workout stats as you workout at the gym. You can also track your body stats.

You can log into our online app anytime to chart your progress and alter your workout routines as necessary. For any changes you make to your routine, they automatically update your online library so when you hit the gym the next time, it shows you the changes. All you have to do is workout and track!

So anyway, we just released version 1 last week (Jul 22/08) - and we're looking to get some great feedback and have people basically use it, and let us know what we can add to make it better. We have some exciting features coming up but would love to hear from all of you.

Our site is:
Mobile Fitness Tracking | Gym Technik

You'll have to visit our online site using your computer first to setup your account.

Thanks and appreciate all the support!

Fitgeek.

The site looks really good. Is it mainly for weightlifting? I ask because I am a runner.

Thanky you for the response akosnitzky. We have only released our product one week ago and right now it is mainly for weighlifting but we are currently building out our "Cardio Zone". And this exactly the type of feedback I am trying to get to make this product much better.

So let me ask you this - What sort of stats would you like to track as a runner? And how would you like to see these stats graphed out? And of course, what other value added features would you like to see knowing that you have a blackberry and a great tool to track running stats in real time?

I'd love to put what you have in our roadmap if it makes sense to all runners out there.

Impressive. I have been getting by with Runner's World Training Log via the Opera Mini. Please keep us posted.

Great looking site and I like this program so far. My workout partner and I normally keep a handwritten log in a notebook, however, we both have Pearls and we love to use them. I sent him the page today and we both set up our weekly workouts on it. Ill continue to let you know how it is going. BTW, the drop down menus are for reps and sets are easy to use. We both like that.

You guys have done a good job of putting down most of the main exercises we use, however, some of them we use aren't on there. Is there a way you can give the user an option to put in a customized exercise. Like for instance, we do dips. There is no selection choice for dips, so we just used the push up exercise and we will know that actually means dips in our logs. If there were an option to "Add an exercise" to our workouts that would be great! Overall, very nicely done and very easy to use. Quick too!

Thanks

Looks good. I use DIYworkout, which is similar but has a BB app to sync with web. The website is where you set up your workouts and download to your BB. Your site looks much sleeker and professional. Thanks for you efforts.

Tuck, thank you for the comments. As for giving the user the ability to add in customized exercises, this feature is already underway within our product roadmap. We will be releasing this feature shortly. For the exercises "Dips", I'm not sure if it was you that requested this through our "Support" section but I will be adding that exercise in tonight - so you can add "Dips" to your workout tomorrow. If we have missed any exercises please do inform - as I'm sure others will benefit.

Deguello, thank you very much for the comments and support. We will be publishing a feature roadmap within our site shortly so check back for updates. Hopefully we will have a feature that can add value to your current workout routine. Also, there are plenty of exciting new feature that we are currently planning/designing that I am sure will benefit all.

Thanks for the support everyone.

Wow, ask and ye shall receive. Thanks fit!

As for more exercises, I'm sure I can come up with some more exercises that might be useful to be added. Would you like me to just go through the support function at your website? (BTW, that wasn't me who asked for the "dips" through support.)

for running (mind you i'm not a runner), i would think being able to press a button to select the start of your run, having the phone use the GPS signal to track it with a timer and then recording things like, mile ran, time ran and possibly an option to email the route in a google maps output file would be helpful.

Looking forward to the feedback Tuck. It's up to you, which avenue you wish to use for support/feature requests. Whatever is more convenient for you.

Dakatza, thanks for the initial feedback. I will definitely note this down for our Cardio Zone design discussions. I like the thought of integrating with GPS to have the application do all the "thinking" and leaving the person to focus on the task at hand - Running!

A stretch category would be helpful too!

Deguello, that is interesting feedback. Can you elaborate a bit more as to what the purpose would be to record stretches?

I am having an technical issue on the web site when adding exercises. Clicking on exercises that have videos are tending to jump back to the video of barbell curls even though the correct text is showing.

Default Tracking stretches

I am just starting to practice karate, and I'm working on stretches particular to tat sport before and after I work out. As opposed to measuring progress, it would be nice to have something to remind me what stretches are to be done before workout and after. Thanks.

I was playing around with my account today to test everything out, but I just input random data. Is there a way to go back and delete data that you have input?

Machado - I have been trying to replicate your issue all evening but am having difficulties doing so. If you are able to replicate again, please do let me know so that I can rectify asap. It may have been a choppy internet connection at the time you experienced this. But please let me know if it still occurs.

Deguello - We will be releasing a feature within the next 4 weeks that allows users to add in their own custom exercise into the system. I see this as an opportunity for you to build in your stretches as your "custom exercises" and track accordingly.

WillJitsu - We currently do not provide the user with the ability to delete workout data. I have a feeling I may have to place this in development as I can definitely see others trying out test workouts. For now, we can delete the data for you if you provide the following - Your username, the day you worked out, the workout name. I would recommend you provide this information via our "Contact Us" portion within our website at Mobile Fitness Tracking | Gym Technik

The feedback so far has been fantastic everyone - And we have already begun development on exciting features coming down our pipe all of which were provided by our users using our feedback form - The ones that know exactly what Gymtechik needs!
