Default JiveTalk 1.1.0 out! - 08-18-2008, 04:54 PM

I was just prompted to do an upgrade.
Few changes I noticed right away:
1. The bee is gone and the icon is now similar to the chat balloon in version 1.0
2. Its no longer called Jivetalk but it is BeeJiveIM
3. Has support for MySpace IM and IBM lotus sametime.

I will post more new features as I discover.

BB Support rule #1: When in doubt, pull it out..... (the battery)

Motorola v360-->SE K750i-->BB 8700--> BB 8320-->BB 8900.

Sweet thanks!

The bee was gone quite a few revisions ago.

They changed to BeeJiveIM in the last couple of beta versions.

I was running 1.0.5 and had the bee.. was there a version between 1.0.5 and 1.1 that I missed?

Release notes can be found here:

http://www.beejive.com/release_notes...blackberry.txt

There was a 1.0.6, but do not see it listed on the release notes. Also I think there is some variation in there version control, as I had 1.0.6 installed as JiveTalk, and later had reinstalled 1.0.6 and it was BeeJiveIM.

It seems like they made an update to 1.05 a while back and changed the icon from the bee to the cartoon bubble.

MySpace IM was also implemented in 1.0.6.

The biggest change is the Group Chat Support for AIM,YHOO and JABBER and MSN.

Others are:
  • Lotus Sametime support
  • Buddy Icons in the chat area
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes, including device lock up while removing Buddy/Sending Email on 4.5 OS

A small bit of info from my phone before I upgrade. When I view "About BeeJiveIM" I am running 1.0.7, with the latest version listed as 1.0.5, and I am not prompted to upgrade.

I had 1.07 and didn't get an upgrade prompt either. I assume that's because we were on the beta server. Just go to w ww.beejive.com to get the upgrade.

Thanks John, I was thinking the beta server was part of the non-update issue. One other thing, if I open the About BeeJiveIM > Menu, and select update, I still cannot update.

Manual download and install of the update appears to be the only way to get from 1.0.7 to 1.1.0 .

1.0.6 and 1.0.7 were 1.1 beta releases -- the changes are included in the 1.1.0 release notes.

I really need to get this working again because my part time job requires me to use aim. Please advise. Thanks.

Did you reboot the device after installation? (remove the battery)

I had 1.0.5 I went to "About JiveTalk" and did a manual Upgrade. I remember When I upgraded to 1.0.5 the upgrade prompt took a day too longer after the initial release.

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

yes, I rebooted and removed battery several times. I even deleted and re-installed it several times. Still get the same message.

After installing new version, the order of my accounts on the top ribbon is now different. I know, it's a small detail, but I'm kind of anal about these things. I even un-installed, re-installed, deleted all my accounts, re-added accounts in the order I want them in, and when I re-start the app, it always puts the accounts in the wrong order.

Any fix? or should I just deal with it?

Beejive has traditionally posted previous versions on their website for download -- check under the support area:
Downloading Previous Versions of BeejiveIM for BlackBerry

We keep the following previous versions of BeejiveIM available for download:
1.0.0, 1.0.2, & 1.0.3

To download and install an older version go to the following URL on your BlackBerry web browser:

http://www.beejive.com/download?version="version number"
That being said, the two individuals that are reporting the error have devices that do not have a microSD card, and the error text indicates file I/O -- just a thought, but that might be the connection.

Works fine from the 8320 so far 4.5.

I'm in an AIM chatroom with a few of my buddies. This is so going to drain my battery and make it an unproductive day at work. Damn you beejive.

The most important thing they've added is "clear all chats" from all buddies, NICE! Thanks Beejive.

P.S. Can we get an option within the program to toggle between application icons? bee or chat bubble?

Yea I noticed the clear all chats for every. Does it store the chat history on the device memory or the SD card?

Yea I noticed my accounts have been re-arranged although it don't bother me lol.

A lot of talk about this icon, I always prefered that Blue Box with the white border and the status ball in the middle. I just kinda accepted the Bee a little while ago lol.

yahoo is doing okay but how to setup using MSN groups chat ?
on beta 1.07 this already implement

edit:
already got an answer from beejive support
said that for msn we can invite other on existing chat , while yahoo we have to create room before doing group chat

Also seems like you can't invite people on AIM when you're in a chatroom invited by another friend.

A lot of my chat messages aren't going through on AIM while in a room.

Once you create a chat room you can't add more people. You have to create a new one. Beejive has a support forum that discussed that a while back.
