Default Docs To Go - No Excel?

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my OS to 4.5 and installed Documents To Go, but I'm dismayed to find no Excel. Is this normal? I've got Word and Powerpoint

Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball)

Yes, it's normal.
You need to register the software and then upgrade to the newest version to get Sheets To Go.

And after you've done that, go back into your OS folder on the PC and delete the DocumentsToGo.alx file. If you don't, the next time you run apploader it will downgrade your Documents To Go.

Is registration free? Does it work without BES?

yes, that's the one. You can move it somewhere else (in case you decide you need it) or delete it.

Thanks JC. Placed it in a Removed Files folder as you have recommended in previous threads.

I nuked it too. I'm a Mac guy and only use my pc for stuff related to mobiles, so my unfamiliarity with all things Windows adds another layer to my frustration. If I connected my BB to my ThinkPad to upgrade and somehow got downgraded, the foul language heard around my house would make a sailor blush.

Is there a way to download the new Sheets directly and save it? What do they send you to do the upgrade, an OTA email link or something?

Rivvie, IIRC when I did my upgrade, it was from the About screen or an upgrade link in the DTG menu.

Just upgraded to 4.5.0.x this morning, walked through this D2GO. The Updates menu item sends you to their website with your registration key, which then provides the link to the OTA JAD file. You can send that JAD link to yourself in email and download the entire 2.2MB mess easily (I used my getapp.sh shell script). 56 files - 1 jad, 1 jar and 54 cod files for the whole package. I installed it from a folder on my SD card just fine.

Rivvie, make sure you get rid of the DocumentsToGo.alx file as I mention above...

After I install an OS I uninstall the OS files completely from Windows. All good here!

Too late for me :o( After the upgrade when I connected to DM, I tried to install an unwanted app. It listed some modules to be removed and in my hurry I said ok before noticing that it had listed a few SheetsToGo modules. So, SheetsToGo is gone now. I can't upgrade using the About button anymore because it says I'm up-to-date. I have read about the solution in another thread => Help with documents to go. Have to try it next...
