Default Password Keeper - 09-02-2008, 11:36 PM

Looking for an app, whether included within blackberry software or third party that lets me sync the passwords on my device with an online password manager.

OR, if anyone else has other, better ideas as to how to store passwords, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

I just use Password Keeper. However, there is no PC application for it. Ascendo DataVault or CryptMagic are a couple of others that let you sync to your PC. I don't know of an online version. Would you want all your passwords stored on someone's server?

Thanks for the suggestions... So I don't use my blackberry for my work but would it still backup these passwords to the BES?

You have to be on a BES (usually through your work) in order to have this feature. There are 3rd party hosting providers for BES, though. Another $20 per month, though.

You might want to check out Ascendo Data Vault, I've been using it for almost a year now, it has a BlackBerry and Desktop client which syncs as an Add-in with the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.. I like because it's in both places syncs without a problems and is actually very organized. Plus you can customize the templates so its pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Ascendo DataVault - Best Selling Password Manager for BlackBerry I think its like 20 bucks thought, you just have to ask yourself if it's worth it. (I'm not sure if there is a trial version but it's worth looking into, in my opinion at least.)

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

This will work if the BES Admin does not remove and re-add you on the BES. Once they remove and re-add you (for whatever reason, like troubleshooting an issue), your Password Keeper data is gone.

True. Having a backup is always a good idea.

*goes to make a backup now since it's been so long since an OS update*
