Question installing PDA software? - 09-04-2008, 04:58 PM

Hello,

Does anyone have any insight for installing a *.CAB program onto the Bold? I am fairly new at this... The software said it is compatible with blackberries and palms and PDAs.

Anyone know anything?

Thanks!

Not with that extension it's not. That's a Windows cabinet file. You may have to run a PC program to extract a BlackBerry install file (.alx)

What is the name of the program?

Welcome to the forum.

I believe that a .CAB file is usually an installer file for Windows products. By any chance is there a .COD and a .ALX file on the CD that you received?

If you downloaded this file (and what software is it, BTW), you may have to go back and download the correct version.

Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia Deluxe, PDA Edition.
The website said it is compatible with WM, PDA and BB.

I'd agree with djm2, that perhaps you may have downloaded the install set for the Windows platform rather than the BB. I cannot get to the file without registering and providing billing info, which I'm not prepared to do.

I'm pretty sure you need to download the proper version. Hopefully they have good customer service and will be committed to resolving your problem.

Thanks jrscf - no need to beat a dead horse. The answer was given two days ago.
