Default Change LED color on different events: any application for OS 4.5? - 09-11-2008, 01:28 PM

Hi,

I'm looking for an application that will change my Pearl's LED (not trackball, only LED) color on different events such as call or SMS. For instance red LED for mail, green for SMS, blue on a new call etc.

Is there any such thing that will work on OS 4.5? I downloaded a demo of both xColorEvents and BlackBerryAlerts but they didn't seem to work as expected on my device; xColorEvents seemed to make the LED blink forever but only in red, BlackBerryAlerts didn't seem to do anything to the LED at all.

Thanks in advance!

BlackBerry Alerts works perfect under 4.5. I have been using it. What issue did you have with it?

And welcome!

Thanks for the welcome .

Well, I assigned colors for the different events inside BlackBerry Alerts first. Then, I set it to "Notify on Missed Calls" / SMS / E-Mail and so on.

However, the application doesn't seem to take any effect. I still get the red LED on all events.

Maybe I have done something wrong but I can't see what that might be...

Have you set all the permissions to Allow?

AlertMatrix (AMX) provides the features you are looking for. The only drawback is that blanket rules need to be defined which log all supported communication protocols, including phone calls, text messages and emails. Such blanket rules clutter the 'Views' sections and make it difficult to discern what is important and what is not, thereby defeating the primary purpose of AMX. If you are comfortable with that, then AMX by all means is a viable solution to event driven changes differentiated by way of colored LEDs.

AlertMatrix rules are specific to the type of event - i.e. Email, Missed Call, etc.

AlertMatrix AlertProfiles are global, but you can specify which rule fires which Alert.
