Is there a way to get the google reader app to be on my homepage or is the only way to get it to go through the browser and have it bookmarked or something??

You can view your Google Reader subscriptions in both FreeRange & Viigo. I don't use Viigo anymore so my experience with Google Reader subscriptions & Viigo was with a much earlier version. I find FreeRange to be much faster than Viigo and with Viigo, all Google Reader subscriptions don't automatically update, which was very frustrating. I am presently using FreeRange on my BB, which is a better integration than Viigo, but still, it's not really a true sync, just a way to read Google subscriptions on the go.
(If I recall, either the Google Reader for BB is a really unsophisticated RSS product or doesn't exist.)
