One bad thing, I just got an email from Youmail asking questions about, would you pay for better service. It was a questionaire.

YouMail is the best. I don't think there is anything the app leaves me wanting.

ok so i am using you mail with one of my devices and fusion voicemail plus with another. I like youmail but wish they had an application to put directly on the bb like fusion does. I tried simul says awhile back and that one was ok too. I really liked when the voicemails came in text on that but I wasn't willing to pay for the service because the text was too inconsitent. I guess what I really want is a visual voicemail service with the abilities of youmail, an app directly on the device like fusion plus, and the voicemail to text feature (for free) of simul says all for free. ( i know i'm asking for a lot but hey, its worth a shot)

grandcentral.com

It works very well from the blackberry or web page. The only complaint is deleting a voicemail on the BB has too many steps.

Its not truly a phone based app, but there is a YouMail desktop icon that can be downloaded. Its a shortcut to launch directly into your YouMail account. Saves time navigating with the browser.

I know most of these services are free, but doesn't your provider (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc) charge to fwd your calls to these apps?

This looks like a very cool feature. Too bad that Sprint charges 20 cents per call forward or I would be using it.

The questions that they asked were all about their transcription service and paying for that. I could see them eventually charging a certain amount for messages over a certain number, but to drop the free service totally would have a very negative impact on their number of users. Ask the people at Jott.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

You mail will be charging now. It may NOT be worth it based on the services you want.

They are only charging for transcription (and there are still some very limited free options for that...). The transcriptions now use a "human in the loop", which dramatically improves accuracy -- inaccuracies have been the major complaint of the transcription beta (i.e., you could get the basic gist of the message, but you were forced to listen to the message to get "the rest of the story".

Does YouMail take extra minutes to forward the call to their message center number? Would those come from my 500 min bucket of call forwarding minutes with T-Mobile?

No the issue is that you have to pay a monthly subscription to use it. They have a free service but it does not look worthwhile. It seems that if you want to use it, its going to cost you
