I haven't seen anyone mention this yet but I bought this app last week, $3.95. Great money spent. It pops a small window up when you get an email so you see who it came from as you're composing another email, surfing the web, whatever. Really neat idea.

I saw this app reviewed on another site last week and jumped on it. It is a simple app, and I cannot believe its function has not been part of the OS to this point.

Great app and well worth the $3.95. Aside from JiveTalk, this is the second app I have paid for.

Yeah, same here, I don't spend money on too many apps but this one is very useful. And yep, I bet RIM integrates this at some point.

I just got this app a few days ago also. It's great -- is very handy to see the email preview and it has several configuration options.

I got this app the other day, and I absolutely love it. I bought it mainly since they will be adding a function for SMS as well soon !

I just ended my 3 day trial, so yes. The program works great but I doubt I'll buy it. This doesnt pop up though with SMS, right?

3 day trial is available, but this app is so inexpensive, who needs a trial?

If you are concerned about getting too many, you can set it to pop up for only certain email addresses (ie. boss, wife, girlfriend etc.)

Also, just got an email today that the app has been updated.

I think I noticed something somewhere where the developer said they are working on future versions that would work with SMS and BlackBerry Messenger.

SMS has been promised on the Crackberry page referenced above in the comments on that page.

I got the new update and it's now doing sms. Only one problem, at least for me, it takes you to message inbox. Which would be great if I didn't have message and sms separated.

Are there two threads on this app? I thought I posted about a problem w/the display of images...

Anyway, I took a picture of my wife w/my Pearl, picture looks fine on-screen in the Media viewer.

Set it as her picture in peekawho, and it's compressed horizontally - she looks like she's been squished in a vice. Doesn't matter if I set it to resize images or not.

Is anyone else seeing this? If not, what's the work-around...I don't have time to go around resizing a bunch of images to suit the app...

Either I am confused, or you are confused. I don't have any idea where you are setting images for contacts, or even what that would do in PeekaWho.

I got an email today also that it was updated, but when I use the check for updates in the app, it says latests version. I guess maybe you have to login at Crackberry to get it the update...

Ok, so I upgraded and now it won't let you make the pop-up fade away less than 10 seconds. I had it at 5 before. 10 is too long imo.

You know,my wife tells me I shouldn't use my BB while watching a movie ("men can't multitask"). . Turns out she's right. I was thinking about PictureId, and clicked into the wrong thread! My bad, going away now. ;)

The newest version includes support for SMS! I don't know about bbm, since I rarely use it. I do wish it would use a contact name as the sender, instead of just their number for SMS.

Email them -- maybe they can help you get it working. There is an option to send questions form within the program. I sent a comment last last night and got a reply early this morning. That's good support.

Would be awesome if they make the sms pop up blink a blue led and make the email pop up window blink a green led alert. Basically, an option to change colors for alerts, wether its email, sms or blackberry messenger? alert

It DOES NOT play nice with BBAlerts. Probably an internal battle over the LED?

I suggest contacting the Support Group for PeekaWho. You can do so by launching the app, then from the menu, About Us>Give Feedback> then select report a problem for your subject.

I had an issue activating, and they were quick to respond.

I just downloaded PeekaWho and I couldn't get it to work. It wouldn't pop up on any emails. I then contacted Customer Support thru the PeekaWho program and they responded to me in less than 5 minutes with an automated email suggesting I download the "fix". I did so, now PeekaWho works just fine. My recommendation to others that may have a similar problem is to do a reboot after initially downloading the program.

I downloaded the previous version of PeekAWho and it didn't work for me at all. It did not show as running in the switch ribbon either, which may have explained it.

I downloaded the newer version 1.149 and now it shows up in the switch ribbon as running (this may have been due to my deleting other autostarting apps). Now SMS (which was added in 1.149) works but email still doesn't.

However, I am running BB Alerts 1.65.

I wonder what this fixed version is... I will ask.

I read in another thread, that the install order cleared up the PeekaWho/BB Alerts issue(s). Doing a search to find the post.

Thanks Shaun. BB Alerts is still working for me, but although the previous version of PeekAWho wasn't working, it's partially working for me now (SMS works but email still doesn't). At least PeekAWho is running in the background now, I'm pretty sure it wasn't running at all (which explains why it wasn't working) with the first version.

Oops, I forgot to update on the situation. I contacted smrtguard support and they had me download and install a special version. It solved all issues and is now working.

I was skeptical, as this special version was labelled as for OS 4.2.2 and I am running OS 4.2.1, but it did the trick.

Thumbs up PeeKaWho v1.159 - 10-09-2008, 08:37 AM

I saw somewhere else that PeeKaWho has been updated:

Quote:
PeeKaWho v1.159 - http://smrtguard.com/download/1159/421/peek.jad

Only download this if you have OS 4.3 or over. The other version will come when we actually fully release.

New in PeeKaWho - v1.159
- SMS popup showing sender address book name instead of number
- Followup! Integration (you can followup to emails from the popup, but you need to install FollowUp! as well, see below)
- SMS on/off
- Backlight on when popup arrives

FollowUp v1.1 (Beta) - http://smrtguard.com/download/follow...lowup_beta.jad

I have updated to v1.159 and the "Backlight on when popup arrives" does not work as described. Anyone have it working on 4.6, or any OS for that matter?

Has anyone noticed that this application causes the battery to run down much faster? Before I installed PeeKaWho, my Bold ran all day, no problem, with at east 30% battery left by 7pm. Now, after PeeKaWho, it is at 10%. I have made sure nothing else is inadvertently running tat may cause this. Any ideas?

the backlight on when popup arrives is working for me on 8120 with 4.5.0.52

i don't notice any difference in battery life so far.

i know it was mentioned before, but it would be nice if the app understood that email and text are setup in different folders, not all in the messages inbox.
