Default PeeKaWho v1.165 Pre-release Trial - 11-11-2008, 11:37 PM

Hi All,

We have been making updates like crazy in the last week or so. Thanks to everyone who emailed and posted comments, we are about to release and want you all to preview it.

smrtguard.com/images/1165.PNG

Here are the new changes to this version over v1.164 and v1.163:
- Preference for Blinking LED
- Preference to change text size
- Preference to have more "concise" popup. When this is enabled, no title, no company of the person is displayed. In short, this allows more of the email body to be shown.
- Added GPS to the list of Application filter (works with Garmin and TeleNav)
- More LED colors added
- PeeKaLight (flashlight feature) takes the LED color of email setting.

NOTE: This pre-release is only for OS 4.3.x, OS 4.5.x, OS 4.6.x

Just downloaded .165 trial and it's working great. Check out the PeekaLab and see what other options are "coming." Great product and works great on the Bold.

Seems like the blue LED that flashes when my Bluetooth headset is on stopped flashing since I installed this app.

I just noticed a bug.

If you try selecting green as an alert, it defaults back to white. Only the green option is doing this NOT the other colors.

P.S. I would love for you guys to add the ability to reset timer count down when trackball rolled, meaning to give us extra time before the popup disappears .

Question 11-13-2008, 11:13 AM

Would the new feature of blinking color LED's replace BB Alerts in a sense? I have used BB Alerts for ages now and love it but if this app. does the same thing along with other features, I may check it out...

Just added the LED timer off. Redownload from the same link, it is a second update to v1.165.

Thanks.

We build it so that you can turn off the LED so it would not interfere with other LED apps.

Thanks.

It should, but let us know if it doesn't. As long as your BB can display chinese text, it should work.

Unfortunately, the RIM API isn't doing what it is suppose to. PeeKaWho should only turn off the LED that it turns on. But you can turn off the LED features complete by unchecking "Enable LED" option.

I also have few suggestions:

1. Configure the LED both color, blinking and duration or use at all.
That single BRIGHT BLUE LED is blinding.

2. Preview the message
I would like not just the subject but the first line. The subject is not helpful on a reply to a message.

3. Configure the font size.
The font is very small and my site isn't great. Just up a point or two would be great.

TIA,
Jeff

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the preview of messages available with PeeKaWho?

All I get it the sender, subject and date followed by

Message:

But I found the issue and want to add request 4.

4. Support HTML Message on the Message: line. Currently only support for text not HTML.

If the message was sent in a HTML Format you don't not get the first line of the message on the Message line of the preview. I certianly understand pictures not showing but not the text.

BTW: This is a great product.

My message field is blank, it actually says "no content". Is there an option to control the message field from showing?

EDIT: Figured it out. PeeKaWho doesn't read rich formating only plain text.

My "Fade Popup (sec) 50" reverts back to 5 after doing a BB reset.

Ok... you got me hooked and now 165 trail has ended. I want to buy. When will we be able to buy it...

BTW: We really need to be able to preview non text only messages.

Aerize Alerts has the preview of non text emails and I've been quite happy with it.

I got an email today that PeekAWho has a new release available -- version 1.170. Haven't had a chance to download it yet.

You have to purchase the program. But there is a new release version, 1.170, so I'd update to that.

Does the trial version not work for you? Had you trialed an earlier version of this application?

If you had 1.165, that was a like beta, I think, only they called it trial -- meaning possibly buggy. 1.170 is the release version -- not beta. There's a link for free trial of 1.170 here:

PeeKaWho Email Alerts - SMS / Email Notification - Personal Productivity BlackBerry Software - Crackberry Store
