In pocket day when I receive a voicemail and then again I've listened to the voice mail a strange text message appears (but not in the BB mail view) with. The numbers 50 in the subject line; nothing else. The developer says this can't be avoided and has something to do with AT&T, but even more oddly it doesn't happen with everyone on AT&T. Question: for anyone who's also experiencing this, have you been able to figure out a way to prevent it from happening; obviously a real pain when getting tons of voice msgs each day.

Thanks

I have seen this for a couple of years and it is annoying. How can you say you have not seen it? I have seen it on the 8100, 8310 and now the 9000.

well, per the developer there's no ryhme or reason to this; he in fact as the same device as me and is on AT&T but it doesn't happen to him.

Because as the OP stated it's an AT&T thing and she is on Verizon.

Interestingly enough.... I never saw this on my 8820. And when I first brought my Rogers Bold onto the AT&T network I didn't see it. Now that AT&T has released the Bold, I have started seeing it in the last couple of weeks. I've noticed it most recently with PeekAWho. Dunno.

In message alerts, I have an alert for Voice Mails. It triggers when I get a new VM, and again after I've deleted the VM from Verizon.

My running theory is that The System sends an otherwise invisible text message telling my BB to turn off the voice mail message waiting icon, and message alerts is seeing and reacting before the text message flips the message waiting icon and self destructs.

Default OP said it was a PocketDay problem - 11-14-2008, 12:41 PM

I've seen this message myself and it used to bug the heck out of me. I think the solution is PocketDay, Settings, Utility Settings and unchecking "Listen for Text Messages". Ever since I unchecked that box, I no longer get that 50 text message.

Thanks. I just tried this suggestion. It worked to keep the 50 tex from appearing, however no other texts are then visible on the PD summ screen. So this option is not workable for me.

I've set the profile for SMS Text to something unlike any other alert, so I'm aware when I receive one. I guess I don't really use PocketDay for reading emails or text messages. I find the HTML rendering in PocketDay MUCH slower than the native email application (OS 4.5), so I don't use PocketDay for anything other than tasks, calendar, weather, time, and PocketDay Lists.
