Default Empower BES Mailbox App not working

Please Login to Remove!

I've got a BB Curve 8330, on OS v 4.3. I am running BES and 2 BIS email accounts. I downloaded the Empower BES mailbox tool (trial edition for now), under the apparently false impression that it would seperate my BES and BIS emails.

First, I now note that it doesn't remove the BIS emails from the main messages folder - that folder still contains all emails (continuing to be one of the worst design ideas I've seen from BB). Apparently, the Empower app is meant to set up a seperate folder for BES.

That would be fine. Except, the folder isn't there. I know the software is installed, because it changed all my email backgrounds (annoyingly) and there are "Empower Options" on the menu list while in the email boxes. And yet, nothing in the Empower Options seems to actually make this BES folder appear. I do not see it anywhere.

Anyone else have this issue? Can anyone provide any guidance? I emailed Empower about it, and they have been useless so far.

TIA!

Hmmm...my wife has it on her Verizon Pearl and it works fine for her.

I didn't remember that it created a new folder, I thought it just changed the view on the standard Messages folder to show only BES messages when you open it, and when you hit the Back key then shows all messages.

If there is supposed to be a Empower BES folder - have you looked to see if it's hidden? Go to your BB desktop and click the BB key and select "Show All."

If it is supposed to work as you describe, that would be excellent. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work EITHER way right now.

I am going to uninstall and reinstall, and see if that does anything.

FYI, I basically started from scratch. Uninstalled the Empower app, deleted my BIS email accounts, hard rebooted, reset-up my BIS accounts, and reinstalled the Empower app. And this worked - got a seperate BES folder.

My original install must not have worked properly.
