Default Quick launcher - 12-28-2008, 07:01 PM

Hello all, I am new to the forum and new to BB altogether. Have had my BB 8330 for about 2 months now and I love it. There are a few things I would like it to do that I haven't figured out yet. I did try to do a search for this, but wasn't able to find the information I was looking for.

What I am looking for is a launcher that will launch an application by pressing one key. Basically I want to map an application to a speed dial key. I would really like to be able to keep dial from home screen active, because I live by my speed dial keys. However, if there is a launcher that requires dial from home to be turned off, so be it.

So, is there anything like this out there? Thanks for the help, looking forward to using the forum!

Well, not sure if such software exists. However, I can tell you that you can turn off dial from home screen and still use your speed dial keys...

Oh! Wow! I never knew that I could still use speed dial keys from home if dial from home was off! I just tried it and I am now I am happy because I have all the standard shortcuts that are built in. Well, that's one step closer than I was before. Thanks for that, I guess I should have tried that before!

Thanks for the link, but that just creates shortcut icons, right? Or did I miss something? I basically want to create hotkeys, not extra icons. What bothers me the most is having to roll the trackball through all the icons. So, that's why I wanted to create the hotkeys.

So, I'll keep hoping there is something to create hotkeys for launching apps!

There is not, that is why I gave you the closest thing possible.

And the homescreen shortcuts rock...
