Default Realtors - GE Supra eKEY for BlackBerry Update - 12-29-2008, 11:13 AM

GE will offer support for BlackBerry devices via a key fob which will use Bluetooth to connect to your BB and infrared to communicate with your GE Keyboxes. For more info click here to visit the website.

Just spoke with the woman (yes, there is one) who is processing the orders for the key fob's. If you havent already ordered yours, you better do so quickly. She doesnt expect to have fob's until the 2nd week in Jan. Additionally, she did not feel there would be enough devices to meet demand. You can click here to order yours here.

Does this need to have specific Board support to use? I'm holding off until I hear how dependable they are - I hear horror stories from people using their Palm devices.

The Pro software to allow searching the MLS looks great, can't wait for that. The alternatives that I'm offered so far are fairly weak.

I'd call Supra at 800-545-9603. To the best of my knowledge you simply need to affiliated with an association that uses the Supra key boxes. I've used the supra key, the Treo 700p and the Treo 700WX. The 700WX is the only one that gave me issues. I use the BB 8830 now.

Supra staff say the FOB will begin shipping this Friday. We'll see. They were not at all prepared for the volume. They have one (1) lady processing all of the key fob orders - by hand. She's through the first 250 of the 550 (and counting) orders. Yikes.

I actually got the promotion from letstalk.com that ended on Dec 31st, they said I would be receiving an e-mail with a link for the activation process or something like that. I called GE and they also said they were low and should receive a new batch on the 9th of January. I live in GA and they are all the way in Oregon, so thats going to a take a while to receive, let alone the fact that it's free, so they may take longer. I would suspect they give it to the ones who have actually paid for it first. I just hope they don't run out this time, so they don't have to push me to the back of the list again.

Yeah it's a little wild. I ordered my via the fax process on 12/20. I spoke with Diana Supra. She is the only lady that can help and has the sole responsibility of processing all these orders by hand. She called me today and let me know that my FOB was FedEx'ed this am and I should have it on Tues. The were swamped with BlackBerry users and were not at all prepared for the volume.

What version OS are you running on your BB? In case you dont know from your home screen
1. Hold down the left "Alt" button
2. Type E A C E
3. What does it say next to "App Version:"
