Default offline currency converter? - 12-29-2008, 03:01 PM

Hi all,

I'm heading overseas in a couple of weeks and would like to have a currency converter on my phone that won't rack up $$ in roaming network fees. Do you know of any downloadable app that is not network reliant?

I haven't tried out Worldmate Live for a while but it seems to me that the exchange rates remain in the program if you don't update them.

If WorldMate Live doesn't work, how about making a spreadsheet with the relevant rates and saving it on the phone.

I took a clue from Oanda's cheat sheet and have a sheet for each currency. I print them credit card sized for my wallet because I find it faster than converting a specific amount. But if you have Documents to Go a spreadsheet would work just fine.

WorldMate seems to be perfect. It doesn't upload new rates unless you prompt it to. THANKS!
