Default mobi pocket reader for bb storm 9530 - 12-31-2008, 10:36 PM

Anyone use this ebook reader? is there a way to turn off the keyboard? When I open the program the virtual keyboard pops up and I can't get it to go away.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Okay, this is going to sound weird. When I first installed Mobipocket reader the keyboard was displayed and there wasn't a Hide Keyboard option on the menu (nor did the swipe your finger along the keyboard to make it disappear work). Then I rebooted my Storm and the reader came up without the keyboard. However, you will still need the keyboard to navigate through the pages as Mobipocket hasn't released a version truly compatible with the Storm. I keep watching for an update but so far nothing. On their forums they said they don't know when a Storm version will release.

ntynen,
That actually was what happened with mine. I was frustrated after I got the full screen and then had to go back to the KB to navigate.
Oh, well, hopefully soon.

mobipocket has a beta version out for the storm. I had to delete the older version before i could get the full screen version. There are some known issues and they are working on it. but please keep in mind it is a beta version and there will be bugs.

I have been using the beta version mobipocket reader for the past few days and have not had any problems with it. I was using the old version and it was usable, but barely. They have made several excellent upgrades for the Storm and it seems to be working just fine. Once you download it you need to pull the battery and perform a hard reboot, make sure the compatability mode is disabled, and it should work.
