Default FlyCast not working - 01-05-2009, 03:19 AM

Hey guys:

I've seen FlyCast all over the forums, so naturally I was very interested in checking it out. The download and install seemed to go smoothly, but when I go to stream the music, no sound plays at all. It says "Playing" at the top, but no sound at all. I can't even toggle the volume with the keys on the right edge of my BlackBerry, everything seems to be locked up with FlyCast.

I've seen other people post some similar problems with FlyCast, but I haven't come across any solutions yet. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, hard reboot...still nothing. Any ideas?

Any chance a bluetooth headset is intercepting the audio?

I just installed FlyCast a few days ago and I've had trouble finding stations that work on my 8330. Some will say playing and nothing is happening. Some will play for 10 or 15 seconds then stop. Some will play at one time, then not the next time. I had the best results with stations listed under connection speed Edge. I didn't have any luck getting the 3G-EDVO-WiFi stations to work so far.

I downloaded it and disabled compatability mode and registered my name.
Then when I try to go to a station, it plays for about 5 seconds and then re tries and says something like, cannot connect.
HELP! I have deleted and re installed three times already

Wirelessly posted (sprint curve 8330)

It works fine on my sprint 8330 with the exception of a few channels. Don't know why it Isn't working for you. Moodio doesn't work for me so ymmv.

There is a Support forum link at the bottom of the FlyCast web site. You may find answers there. I did, but mine still doesn't work. I can't get past the login screen of Flycast on my BB 8320.

Hopefully I am the guru that has come to save you all!? Ok jokes aside, it depends on which OS you are running on your curve. Blackberry has a few fundamental flaws that prevents flycast audio from coming thru on some phones.

My recommendation would be to completely remove FlyCast (w/e version you have). Disable compatability mode, then check out the forums (posted in my signature) for the new Super Amazing Awesome FlyCast 2.0 Beta download (supported on curve, bold and storm). Not only will you be amazed by the new features, your audio issue should be solved.

Hope this helps! Thanks FlyCasters!

P.S. - Regarding Moodio: FlyCast offers about 2000 streamed stations, including podcasts from well known programs like BBC and Discovery Channel. We also have a Shoutcast Search Engine, which allows you to easily find, locate and input more than 25,000+ stations we do not cover.

I would not say Moodio is better or worse, they are located in the Netherlands and do not have access to some premium content. If you have a few URL's you want to stream, moodio or flycast would probably be fine for you and you may not even notice a difference. If you want user-friendly experience with a great support team and a ridiculous amount of innovation now and to come, check out FlyCast

From Rosco

Just FYI, we have had out 2nd release of the new 2.0 BETA for BBY's - check it out!

** New ** Public FlyCast 2.0 Public Beta

Hello everyone,

Thanks for all your feedback and your patience while we keep improving FlyCast.

We are releasing our second public beta. We have made a lot of changes. I will
highlight some of the major ones here. For the Storm, we have added full UI
rotation, including cover flow during playback. We have made recording and
user music library options that you can turn off. We have made a lot of bug
fixes in sound volume, headphones, bluetooth, phone call handling, and more.
You can now also tweet about a song you like to all your followers on Twitter.

To get the new beta, please first delete FlyCast from your device.
Then point your browser on your BlackBerry to flycast.fm/betabby

We have archived the current beta and you can roll back if you have problems.
Previous Beta for Storm users: flycast.fm/bb20/storm/6021/flycast.jad
Previous Beta for Everyone else: flycast.fm/bb20/other/6021/flycast.jad

P.S. Sorry but I cannot post full links here yet
