Hey...
When you use the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to load applications, (assuming you have downloaded some applications), under the load applications section, browse to the location of the .ALX file from the software you downloaded.
You should now see that application in the list, make sure that the checkbox next to it is checked, click Finish and the software should begin loading to your BlackBerry device.
If you need to find some applications to download you can visit sites like Getjar among others, or visit the site of the developers/software companies.
A lot of these sources also allow you to download the applications directly on your device when you visit them via the BlackBerry browser on your phone.
