Lightbulb Announcing Beyond411 4.31 for the Storm; Beyond411 GPS fixes - 01-31-2009, 08:29 PM

Hot off the presses, I’m pleased to announce the first release of a version of Beyond411 for the Blackberry Storm.

I don’t have a Storm, so I’ve been able to run this under a simulator; it’s possible that it won’t work at all on actual Storm or that there will be usability issues.

If you’re adventurous and want to give it a try, point your phone at http://thebogles.com/storm/berry411.jad

Please send me a note letting me know of any issues you encounter or suggestions for improvement.

On an unrelated note, I've fixed an issue that was prevent GPS from working for most folks, or at least I think I have. If not, please let me know.

Seems to be working just fine (but I haven't tested with GPS on VZW yet).

Many thanks!

Well, I can't get it to work with the GPS. I'm not sure where the problem is - VZW, me, or B411.

This is GPS on the Storm, or another phone? I'll see if I can figure out what's up with the Storm.

GPS on a Storm for me. I haven't had GPS before in B411, and I'm quite used to living without it. But it would be cool if it would work...

I have not been able to get the GPS to work either with this program, unfortunately!

It does work with BB maps and Weatherbug etc.....though....

Lightbulb Beyond411 v4.31: GPS fixes on the storm - 02-08-2009, 01:07 PM

I just pushed out version 4.31, which should fix GPS on the Storm. (I only have a simulator, but it now works for me there.)

It also fixes a bug in which the buttons on the plugin screen weren't clickable.

It still doesn't work for the 8900

It forces me to revert to basic networking, and it doesn't pick up GPS. If I revert to basic networking and use GPS it thinks I'm in Seattle

Beyond 411 version 4.20.5 works perfectly on my 8900. Maybe you should give the old version a shot?

So which version is best to work with the 8900?
