Does it support 128 encryption?

Minuet supports MIDP 2.0 (Java) which has built-in support for HTTPS. The actual implementation of security features is provided by the underlying Java virtual machine (JVM) of the device, so it would be device dependent. Having say that, we do not recommend doing secured transactions with Minuet at this point. It would be best to try it out with the demo version so you know if Minuet can do what you want.

I tried the older version of minuet and wasn't impressed, so removed it immediately. I have just installed the new version, but it says that my trial period has expired...presumably because I have tried the older version before. Surely, you would want us to try the new version of the software even though we've had a stab with the old version in the past

I have the same problem. I would love to try the new version to see if I can access my bank on-line however since I installed a previous demo, I can't preview the new one without buying it :(

Can I do an OTA download of the trial version? Handango tried to DL to my desktop, and I'd rather dl it to my device.

That sounds like you have application data left behind after you deleted the application. Is it possible to try deleting the application data?

We are working on a new demo version that would not be affected by an older demo version that has expired. However, having application data left behind after removing the application is not a good thing for your Blackberry. You may want to check your device manual or check with your vendor about how to delete application data.

No offence mate...but...I would expect you to know where your own application leaves its data, and to be able to tell us how to get rid of it.

You can delete the application data with the Application Loader. Be careful not to delete applications and data that you want to keep. Below is an example of what the procedure should look like. The exact instructons should be available from your device manual.

1. Place the BlackBerry handheld on the cradle.
2. From the desktop manager, double-click the Application Loader icon. The Application Loader Wizard window appears.
3. Click Next. The Handheld Application Selection window appears.
4. Ensure that the appropriate applications are selected and click Next. The Completing the Application Loader Wizard appears.
5. Click Advanced. The Handheld Data Preservation window appears.
6. Select Erase all application data and Erase all currently installed applications, and click Next.
7. Click Finish. The handheld resets. This might take several minutes.

An updated Minuet demo (V1.1.2) has been released that is backward compatible with older data files. If you want to skip the above steps, please proceed to the following link to download the new version:

Woah, if you follow that step though, you also end up deleting all the other programs and settings off the phone... Is there a non-destructive method?

You should be able to only delete the data for one application. But that is a very good point. You should always back up your data and settings before attempting to erase anything, and only do this if you know what you are doing. If you want to try Minuet again but couldn't, because there are some old data left behind, you won't have to do this now. Just try the new demo version (V1.1.2).
